Hi guys, I have been soooo busy lately, my boss is working me to the bone. Oh wait, I work for myself! LOL

I have been looking at a couple sites intown, one being beavermead park, and I was thinking the zoo possibly as well. I was hoping for somewhere we could just picnic, and the kids could play within our sightlines. Anyone else have any suggestions? I have been working literally 9-9 almost everyday and have had no time to call many places. I didn't want anyone to think that I had forgot about it. Take care all and talk to you soon...........

Hey Rob "(Snowwhite's DH)"....my first thought was beavermead park, but I think the zoo sounds even better...a lot more for the kids to do if they are old enough to wander off...or maybe we can get some volunteers to watch the younger one's at the playground...the picnic area is nice too...My 2 cents, but I'm open to other ideas

My vote is for the Zoo as well. I have 3 little rambuctious boys who love the kids park there!

Marilynn

Edited to add: There will be 5 of us hopefully! Are we going to do a pot luck or bring our own for each family?

Can I get some numbers then for all who wish to come and I will call the city next week about getting a covered picnic area spot. Thanks for responding it sounds like the zoo is the popular choice..........Rob

There will be either 3 or 4 of us hopefully coming. As I mentioned in a previous message, due to illness in my family our coming to the DIS meet is only tentative at this point, but we sure hope we can come!!!!
Thanks for all your efforts.

3 for sure...probably 4...maybe 5...how's that for decision making :teeth: ...we have a teenage daughter...with a boyfriend...what can I say :confused3

I can't remember when it was set for!

Yeah, me too...at least us two, me & Lauren...but who knows maybe dh will come. I also vote for the zoo. i just hope it's a day i can come.

We were looking at July 9th or 23rd. Of course it depends on availability of the pavillions at the zoo. I will call this week and see what can be arranged.... Have a great LONG weekend......... :sunny:

Hi all,

All the dates in July were booked for the weekends, so I booked Aug 6th at the zoo. We are pavillion #2 (when you go into the zoo turn left and we are down the hill the pavillion on the left. We have it for the full day reserved just for us. Please let me know if this date is good for you. Their only request is that we bring our own garbage bags and take them with us when we leave. Anyone coming from out of town email me at rcwoollard@hotmail.com and I will give you directions if you don't know where the zoo is. Talk to you all soon......

Rob, I have marked the date on our calendar. Please tentatively count us in (3 or 4 of us).
Thank you for all the work you have done on this. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Sorry can't make it that weekend! It's our towns Bicentennial and I am on the committee. We have events planned for the whole weekend.
Have a great time! One day we'll all meet.

Thanks for organizing this Rob. My girls will be away that week so we are down to 3.

And that date may work for us, what info do you need? What do we bring? What do I need to know? LOL, and what time do we meet?

We have the area for the whole day, I figured we would be there around 11 and since we have the place all day you can stay till it gets dark and spooky if you like! I was thinking that since this is the first time for alot of us meeting that if everyone just brought lunch for their families this time that would be great. Once we get to know everyone then next time we could do a potluck or a BBQ. This way we don't have to worry about likes and dislikes, food allergies and such. There is area there to toss a ball around or frisbee, and the playground is just up the hill. HOCKEYMOM, sorry to hear that your girls will be away. I was looking forward to meeting them. A couple of my students know your girls. Looking forward to meeting everyone! The shelter has room for about 50 people or so, and if it is a nice day tonnes of room around it as well, so everyone is welcome to attend. Have a great day! Hey make it a disney day!!! :cool1:
