I've seen two types of stroller fans:

1) the foam blades w/out the wire cage

2) the hard blades with the wire cage.

The reviews I've read for one type say the breeze isn't very strong. I'm going to have to pay shipping for these, if I purchase them. So I'd like to know if anyone has had any experience with them.

What kind of breeze do they put out?

I don't mind changing the batteries everyday if it keeps little ones cooler.

Thanks!

UPDATE
Based on the review below and the price I bought the o2-Cool foam blade battery operated fan. It was inexpensive and the o2-Cool website boasts that their products produce a good breeze.

several people on here have posted that they like the one w/out the cage b/c it has a better breeze. I have the fan they sell in disney and it has the cage on it the breeze is decent I have never used the others that have the cage so I can't compare it to them but i did just by two more fans they don't have a cage on them and they are flexible I will use at least one in addition to the disney one.

a friend sent me her 2 stroller fans and they have cages on them. I felt they did not put any breeze out at all. Especially with the extra canopy that I bought to give my DD 7 months extra shade at six flags last week.

where did you find the ones with no cage?

they have pinwheel fans I bought two of these off of ebay they will be shipped to me tomorrow and after getting them I will be posting how I like.

We used the ones on your first link last year and they were great. We got ours at CVS. The breeze was pretty strong and I like that they were flexible. Just remember to keep extra batteries on you. One day we forgot to bring batteries with us and of course that's the day the batteries died so we had to buy some in the park.

Thanks thats good to know they worked well. I actually bought a big pack of batteries from sam's to bring w/ us when we go on vacation so I shouldn't have any trouble worrying about batteries. I liked these the most b/c the were flexible and I will not have to worry about moving the whole fan. I don't know if its b/c I live in a small town or what but I can't seem to find any of the good stuff at the two walgreens, cvs, or riteaids by my house I have to drive to the next town which is about 30 miles away so its a bummer b/c I don't really want to make a special trip just for small things especially today w/ the prices of gas.

We had the ones without the cage on our trip last month. Worked great for DS. However, DNiece (age 2) got her hair caught in the exposed blades, and we needed a CM to help us cut her free. Just something to think about...

I bought ours on ebay. Search under "fantastik fans" - they are the foam ones with the LED lights. I also bought a Mickey Fan when we got there and it did not work nearly as well as the Foam fans. You get a much better breeze from the foam fans - plus our little one loved the lights!

Have Fun!

We use the o2 cool fans on our youngest DD strollers at home and at Disney and love them!!! We also have the Mickey one from the park and it doesn't throw as much air as the o2, you will love it.:)

Oh! That's great news, thanks! I love the matching outfits in your pics, by the way. :wizard:

Where is a good place to buy the o2 cool fans?

We also have the "fantastik fans" like the one posted at http://cgi.ebay.com/Mini-Laser-Safet...QQcmdZViewItem , but wow have the prices gone up since I first bought mine on eBay. I paid like $7.50 total for mine and that included shipping!

I have recommend them many times. People ask about them all the time at the parks and in the Dis (they see them in my pictures). I also bought the stroller fan from One Step Ahead. It has the cage around the blades and it doesn't put out nearly as nice of a breeze as the "fantastik fans".

Be careful not to leave the fans in plain sight when you park your stroller because there are non Disers out there that are not as prepared as us and may want to "borrow" your "fantastik fans"! We usually just threw it in the basket underneath and put a blanket over it. They are quite easy to snatch if you leave them out. And there were MANY hot park goers admiring our fan in the hot August heat last trip.
