Guess What............... Another update (edit) to the pre Disneyana convention events.

Still on............. Dinner at Boma's on Sunday, 8/18/02
Dinner at Boma's at the Animal Kingdom Lodge, 5PM seating with pin meet to follow in the Animal Kindgom Lodge Lobby. Please email me if you will be able to make the dinner so that I can make the reservations. The dinner at Boma's is a buffet style and everyone pays the same price unless they have an aholocic or premium beverage. My email is Frzn4@aol.com.

Monday, 8/19/02............LaNouba
The tickets for LaNouba have already been purchased however, anyone still interested in attending can contact Shari Koss at sgkoss@writeme.com. She has some good information and may be able to save you a few dollars.

Tuesday, 8/20/02............Pleasure Island outing
We had originally planned on doing a Private Illuminations Viewing for this date however, there was a lack of interest so we shot for an Illuminations cruise.......Well.......that was booked for the 20th so we decided to try and switch things around a bit. On Wednesday we are planning an outing to Pleasure Island with the focus on the Comedy Warehouse and Adventures Club. Anyone looking for additional information on this can contact Chirs at SgtSlovak@aol.com

Wednesday, 8/21/02..........Illuminations Cruise
Well, since the 20th was booked we were able to get the 21st. We have two boats reserved at this time. Each boat holds 10 adults or 10 adults and 2 children. To date we have 15 persons commited to the cruise which leaves us with 5 open spots. Anyone interested in filling our 5 extra spaces please contact Chris at SgtSlovak@aol.com

Possible thoughts............. Magic Kingdom Cruise on August 25th. It appears that most of the convention activities will be done by 5PM so this would give us a chance to take in this cruise also. I have heard that this is very nice as the fireworks over the castle look much larger than when you are standing directly under them. Also you are able to take in the Water Pagent Parade. Anyone interested in this can contact myself, Mary at frzn4@aol.com or Chris at SgtSlovak@aol.com)

Please note that the dates in Mary's post are correct but she skipped a day. La Nouba is on MONDAY, the 19th. Pleasure Island is TUESDAY, the 20th. And the Illuminations Cruise is WEDNESDAY, the 21st.

And I am SO BUMMED that I am leaving on the morning of the 25th. Looks like I'm going to miss out on some fun! But, alas, one has to go home some time.

:-(

The NFFC World Chapter will be meeting on Saturday August 24 in the evening. Location has not yet been announced. Although we live in Virginia, JudySue and I are members of the World Chapter. If you are not a member of NFFC, now is a good time to join (or you can do so at the meeting).

Can you tell us something about the organization, Mike? Is there a fee? What do you do? Who is the target audience, etc.?

It is a fairly large (several thousand) organization. The formal name is the National Fantasy Fan Club for Disneyana Enthusiasts. We have been members for almost 15 years. Currently family membership is $24.00 plus any chapter dues. For more information go to http://www.nffc.org/ You would probably want to be a member of the "Chapter at the Park" which is in Anaheim, but may belong to any chpter(s) you want to. JudySue and I are members of the Baltimore and World Chapters. If you decide to join, there is a space on the appication which says "referred by" and shows the web site. Before printing the application change the from the web sit to Mike Tuchman. There is always an almost week-long convention in Anaheim over July 17. The World Chapter has meetings about every two months; they have always had one the last night (public day) of Disneyana, with about 100 or so people attending. Several of the artists from Disney Design Group are members; you will also meet some (in)famous and well-known Arlen. The World Chapter is at <http://communitylink.icflorida.com/...e&mode=display&gid=00020000001014610177202292> (this is a VERY long link) with some information about the August meeting.

Sold out as in with us, or sold out so we missed it? I'm confused!

Shari

The Illuminations Cruise is sold out but all other activities are still open. If you will be down in WDW that week, please join us for some Disney fun!
