To log on and see all of this activity on my “.” thread really saddens me.

I worked on my “your umbrella history” thread for days and days and the dang thing only got 10 replies and 99 views. This thread was an accident and it has already gotten 29 replies and 342 views. How can that be? Where did my umbrella thread go sour? Was there some sort of dark cloud lurking over it? (pun intended)

Oh I do see some mercy replies over on my umbrella thread and I thank the usual DISer ‘s who throw them to me. Seems like it happens a lot lately. Sad to think I once had the “guess the announcement” thread that got close to 1000 replies and over 30,000 views with in TWO WEEKS. (thanks Pandy Paws)That is what you call a record, and thanks to my friend WillyJ it got me the impressive “Classic Post” tag. ( hey WillyJ I how is the $10,000 holding out, I hope it didn’t run out)

I sometimes do “POSTmortems” on my posts to make for a stronger future post. What was wrong with the umbrella thread? Well let’s see, I threw in the usual mix that makes for a good post. The childhood memories, good old mom, corn, and sexual innuendo. (for EROS) My conclusion was that there was nothing wrong with the post. It was the timing that killed it.

note to self: Never post anything on a Monday morning.

PS – hey nice to see the “punctuation wars” mentioned. Ahhh those were the days my #&$%@^# friends.

The more unusual the post, the more views/replies it is going to get.
