First time posting on a forum *ever*:
We have an upcoming trip, and even though we are pretty cautious people with Covid, I'm curious what happens if you test positive while on vacation. I can't seem to find any information from Disney about their policies and don't see much information on these boards. Hoping someone has some insight.
*We are flying, so we couldn't just pack up in our car and leave. Has anyone had to quarantine at their resort?

If there is a thread I'm missing, link me to it?

I assume you are referring to a park trip and not a cruise. What you do on property and how responsible you want to be (go to parks, restaurants, resorts) is up to the guest. Disney isn't checking. You may however have trouble returning home depending on covid positive procedures in your area.

I saw someone somewhere refer to being placed in a cabin at Ft. Wilderness. I'm sure there is a process/procedure somewhere but it's just not publicly available.

Yes, referring to on property. More so, wondering if Disney allows guests to quarantine on property when needed.

So, it's the honor system for someone to self report a covid infection? (I am not at all advocating for someone to be careless and ignore the recommendations to quarantine if sick.)
Just curious how Disney would know?

I guess I'm speaking for us personally, because we would need to/want to quarantine. Whether or not Disney needs to know, we'd just want to know what their protocols are if we would test positive/self report that info.

I am from Ireland and travelling to Disneyland California in a few weeks. I have a back up plan for this exact situation. I have to do a Covid test and have a negative result in order to return to Ireland.

My travel insurance will cover flight change fees, accommodation and food in the event I am denied boarding due to a positive result. However I have to pay out of pocket and put in a claim when I return home.

I have booked a back up motel near LAX with a no fee to cancel before arrival policy. I have booked a motel specifically so that if I have to isolate I can still have access to outside. I also checked to make sure that the room I booked has a microwave and fridge and laundry facilities. I have also bookmarked food delivery services. I booked at LAX airport area because I will have to get another test to return home after the isolation.

I am on a UK Disney forum and there are currently members in Florida who have tested positive during their visit. As far as I know they are offsite. Some have informed their current accommodation and have been able to extend their stay. Some have moved to a new accommodation and again informed the hotel.

Basically you need to have the funds available to either extend your current accommodation or move to a new accommodation. You need to research grocery and food delivery options. You need to have a backup plan in the event that you can't return home on your planned date and how you would manage pet sitting, work , school etc etc.

Gotcha. Officially from Disney Know Before You Go statement regarding covid symptoms or illness:
"Guests who cannot confirm all of the above criteria must not enter Walt Disney World Resort. If at any point during their visit a Guest does not meet all of the above criteria, they and their traveling party will be required to isolate and may be relocated or asked to leave the property."

Be prepared with a back up plan in case they cannot find you another hotel room. And "resort" in this case would also include theme parks. I imagine they would suspend any usage of your theme park tickets.

PP looks to have a solid plan going.

I was looking for that term and condition in my booking documents. I knew it was in there somewhere.

According to reports, Disney moved you to quarantine cabins at Fort Wilderness that you pay for at your expense.
