We will be going to Universal two days on our trip. We have ADRs back on Disney property for dinner, one I cannot seem to get a later time for (Ohana) so we will be leaving Universal earlier than I planned to get back for dinner (this is non-negotiable per DHs very specific request)

Anyway, which park would you recommend we spend more time at? Like in WDW people would usually say AK needs less time than other parks, is there a Uni equivalent? I have been before but last time we hopped so it was super rushed and the time before that was 2006 - so Pre WWoHP days...

Thanks for any advice!!!

I think the parks are pretty even now. It can vary with what type of rides you like but there seems to be quite a bit in each park that it's hard to put one over the other.

We've always needed more time in IOA than US - both pre-kids and post-kids, including before Harry Potter. It does depend what you like though. We needed more time in IOA before since we did the thrill rides over and over and over. Now we don't, but the kids love the play areas and Suess area and HP of course. (And more!)

When is your trip? We haven't been to US since 2010. Since when we only have 1 day, then it's IOA for us. But we're going for several days in a few weeks. So, I may have a different perspective when we come back. My kids are 4.5(boy), 7.5(girl), and 10.5(boy) so I may be better at advising once we return.

we need more time for the studios.Alot of it is shows and longer attractions ( Disaster and terminator are quite long) and the shows ( especially in the off season) can often run at the same time , so it takes longer to get through them all

Our Uni days are Nov 18 and 20. Thanks! Really I am just happy we are going to spend two days there this time instead of one like last time.

Thanks, they do seem evenly split which is making it so hard. With 4 kids there is pretty much something for everyone which makes the choosing harder.

Another question - is the Horror make up show scary? We usually stick together at the parks but am not sure if the Horror show will scare my youngest. Also any ball park ideas how long it is? I see other shows on the Uni website list times but didn't see one.

Thinking maybe my horror make up obsessed 14 yo, 11 yo and DH would enjoy that and I will take the littles to Barney :crazy2: and a general idea of the length of the show would help.

THANKS!!

Horror Make Up show is funny!!!! There are a couple of video clips showing monster make up but the rest is funny. I think it is about 15-20 minutes long.

Love the horror make-up show. It is a riot. I don't think it is scary at all. I think the only thing that scared me was waiting in line and some freaky woman poked me with a fake hand!

We'll be a little late to give you a good recommendation on which park you need longer for. We'll be in the parks that entire week Sun-Sat except for the 18th. The good news is that it will work out which ever way you do it!

When my DS9 and I went in April, we had 2 days total and we started each day at each park. We did IOA on the first day, US the 2nd. We are very much into the thrill rides so we found ourselves going back to IOA on the 2nd day to spend more time there as there were more action rides such as the Hulk. A few years ago when my DS was 5, we spent more time in US as there was more for him to do there such as Suess. Saying that, there are still many positives in both parks!!!
