The number one thing I suggest to people looking for excursions is to sign up for Groupon Hawaii notifications. You will find AMAZING deals!!! I also suggest though that you take a moment to look at Yelp review and do a little homework on a company before you buy
We just returned from 10 days at Aulani a few weeks ago, and one of the excursions we did was
https://www.groupon.com/deals/dolphins-and-you-1-3 SO FRICKEN AMAZING!!!! First of all, the people with this company are AMAZING! They pick you up from Aulani and take you back, so it couldn't be easier. They take you out in boat to Electric Beach (shore off of the power plant up the street from Aulani) and drop you in with the dolphins. On our first drop we saw dolphins, but they were off in the distance a little. They brought us back on the boat and took us to another spot, and then we were right in the middle of it. I don't know how big this pod was...40, maybe 60 dolphins, including babies!! They were all around us!! And, to be clear, they dropped us in the area and the dolphins came to us. They were very clear about not harassing the marine life. It was, hands down, the most AMAZING thing I've done on Oahu!!! Also, it was pretty cool when we came into the area, we could see the dolphins swimming near the surface, and a couple even FLEW out of the water spinning. After everyone had a good viewing of the dolphins it was back on the boat. They took us over to the most prime snorkeling spot off Electric Beach where we swam with some amazing fish, as well we had access to a paddle board, kayak, and they inflated a slide off of the side of the boat. Our trip included a yummy BBQ'd hamburger lunch as well. On the way back we saw 3 humpback whales really close to the boat, so we slowed down to take in the sites. It was an incredible day!
