upcoming mexico vacation...

It sounds like you've definitely read up on the area, and agree with what you've said about Cabo. It makes sense that you'd rather go there than Riviera Maya with your experience, but don't discount all of RM. Not ALL AI's are overcrowded. Good luck with your trip and have a blast!

If you've got someone with health issues that may flare up down there, please get insurance to have them air lifted out of there. I have a friend who helps with an orphanage down there. Her husband got very sick and ended up in a Mexican hospital. They ended up having to mortgage their house and sell a bunch of things because you have to pay cash for everything and they won't let you out until you've paid.

I can't go to Mexico even if I wanted to for health reasons, they don't have good enough health care for me to feel comfortable in an emergency.

Here are some, of the Hospitals in Mexico, by the way, the last visit that Busch made to Mexico, he was treated on this Hospital, I Know because I was there giving Birth:

and this Hospital, is conciderated the best hospital in ALL LATIN AMERICA:

So I don´t know who is the source of your information, but in that area ,you are mistaken, and of course, if I get sick, and, if I go to the Hopital in the USA, I won´t be let go, if I don´t pay, because I am not in the same health plan that you have, and that happens all over the globe. Probably the persons that you talk , doesn´t have a health plan, and that is scary everywere, and no, if I had to be hospitalized, the rule is that if you are discharge before 1 night, then you have to pay directly to the hospital, but if you have at least one night there, the insurance pays directly to the hopital. If you are a worker, then, they have their own hopitals where they dont have to pay anything at all, they pay monthly a small amount for the insurance, and their boss pays monthly 4 times more to get them insure. :goodvibes

Actually, here even if you are not on any health insurance, they will let you go as long as you promise to pay. They'll bill you and everything. In fact, they'll even set up a monthly payment plan.

The person I know goes to my church and they were in the hospital for quite a few days. They are from the states and go down there to help. All I know is that they ended up having to mortgage their house to pay for his care and he wasn't let out until they paid fully in cash.

Thank you for the info on the hospitals. I'm sure you have some good ones down there, I'm just not comfortable going to Mexico with the complexity of my medical issues. In fact, there are many places all over the globe that I am no longer comfortable traveling to, not just Mexico.

I hope you get better, and one day, you will visit us.:flower3:

My parents have a timeshare in Cabo and go every March. So they've been back a month and they had a great time. Didn't say anything about feeling unsafe. They did have a problem with Delta losing their luggage however!

I would be afraid to travel to Mexico right now. I just don't think it's safe.
