Perhaps some more details would allow others to offer advice. Are you going into a park or hopping? Are you planning to just resort hop and not visit the parks? Where do you plan on staying for the night before the cruise? Will you have a car or are you taking Magic Express?

Animal Kingdom's expansion Pandora: World of Avatar may be open then. It will be the shinest newest Disney land. It will likely be very popular. If you have not been to Disney before, then Magic Kingdom is a must. There is a whole dining board that can give you ideas of places to eat. Many places take reservations and it is strongly suggested you make one if you want a sit down full service restaurant. Those reservations open 180 days in advance.

Good points. Sorry I left that out.

Parks are up in the air since we are using Southwest for airfare. They aren't booking flights just yet for September. More than likely we may resot hop.

We will be at Art of Animation the night before.

We will be using Magical Express for our trip, and ground transfers to/from the Dream. So, no rental this time around.

Almost forgot about Pandora.

We did do Brown Derby on our honeymoon and liked it very much. Garden Grill at Epcot sounds fun.

  • Garden Grill breakfast at Epcot is a great character breakfast.
  • Lunch or dinner at Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater at Hollywood Studios is a neat experience.
  • Hoop Dee Doo Revue dinner show at Fort Wilderness is great.

Love, love, love Hoop Dee Doo but it can be costly.

I also love the Grand Floridian Cafe (at the Grand Floridian) for lunch. Casual, quiet yet beautiful and yummy food.

We're doing a day at WDW before our cruise in November. Our plan is to relax at our resort during the day, then doing Mickey's Christmas party at night. Christmas party tickets are cheaper than a one day pass, and we won't be rushing around to do everything in one day, relax, enjoy then set sail.

You could always do the Halloween party at MK if it is on the night you are there as it doesn't start until 7 p.m. (But allow you in as early as 4 I believe). We have always loved BOMA for resort food and the animal kingdom lodge is fun.

If you only have one night at Art of Animation you may want to consider just staying there and eating at the food court, Landscape of Flavors. The theming at the resort is wonderful and just wandering around so see each of the different areas and then spending some time at the feature pool easily fills an entire afternoon. The food court is also very good with tons of options including Indian dishes-I really enjoyed my tandoori chicken and naan, it was quite good for a food court dinner! We like doing a nice breakfast the morning of the cruise (we did Kona Cafe last time and will be doing Ohana this time) but with using Disney transportation that might be a bit difficult to do. I do like the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party idea if it works with your dates though. That would be a great evening pre-cruise!
