I saw on the dvcmembers.com website (early reminder) that you can reserved up to 7 nights stay. Really? only 7 days? what if we want to stay for 10 days? How do we make the reservation then?

You can reserve 7 days at your home resort at exactly the 11 month mark. If you are inside the 11 month mark, you can reserve as long as you want. Same goes for reservations outside your home resort at 7 months.

Example:

You own at BWV but want BCV for August 1st. On January 1st you can call and book August 1-8th. If you want to stay until August 10th, you would have to call back Jan 2nd and Jan 3rd and add those days. However, if you called January 3rd and all 10 days are available you can book all 10.

Make sense?

With the initial call, you can book 7 consecutive nights and then call the next day to add an additional night, etc. You can keep doing this, thus you aren't restricted to a 7-night vacation.

Does the same go for booking at 2 home resorts at 11 months? I can book my first home resort at exactly 11 months, then the next day add on 2 nights to the end at my other home resort? Or do I need to wait until exactly 11 months out for the second resort?

If you are trying to add nights at one Home Resort using points from another Home Resort you will need to wait until 7 months. If all points are from the same Home Resort, you can reserve up to 7 nights with the first call at 11 months and additional days using points from the same Home Resort on a daily basis. Points from a different resort will still need to wait until 7 months.

At 11 months you may make reservations at any/all Home Resorts for stays up to 7 nights but using points from different resorts cannot be done until 7 months.

Let me clarify what I meant ..thanks Doc :thumbsup2

It doesn't actually have to do with booking past 7 nights. Maybe I should start a new thread?

I thought I read before that I could call on July 13 and book AKV(home resort) for 4 nights June 13,14,15,16 2012 and then instead of waiting until July 17th to book 2 nights June 17,18 at SSR (home resort) I could call around July 14 or 15 to add the SSR nights rather than wait until July 17 because it's all under one travel number. Is that correct?

Your stay at your second home resort has it's own 11 month booking window so you have to wait until you are 11 months out from that check in.
