Up to 20% off "Premium Rooms" at DLR Resorts; Aug. 17 - Sept. 27

why not just cancel the hotel portion? thats what I did and spoke to 2 different orbitz reps that the vouchers are still valid

Agree-I am 99.9% sure the hotel can be can be cancelled up to the cancelation date (a few days before arrive for a Disney hotel) but the vouchers are non-refundable. That is what is said when I just booked-so just cancel your hotel room and rebook the hotel portion. The discount code is only good on the hotel, not the vouchers anyway.

We had a booking prior to this deal and we booked through Costco. I called this morning and talked to the lady about the deal. Long story short we got upgraded from a standard room to a premium view room at the DLH and saved 105$ from our previous booking! Costco will work with you also just a heads up!

That finally paid off! When I communicated with the virtual chat person at Orbitz, I was told that if I canceled the hotel reservation that I would lose the park tickets I had pre-paid. Based on your comments, I called Orbitz and she canceled only the hotel reservation so I could book a view room at less cost than my standard view reservation. Thanks for sharing the Review15 code!

Just tried booking through Orbitz and it quoted me at 365 pre tax per night without the promo code
when the Disney site has me at 304 pre tax for the same room:confused3

I booked our pkg through Costco. We aren't going until Nov, so at this point it's a moot point, but in the event this happens later on for our dates, I will definitely see if we can get upgraded! I know they don't offer concierge rooms, but a view room would still be nice! Right now we are booked at the lowest standard rate. I was glad to read that Costco upgraded another family with an existing reservation & saved $$ too! I hate to lose our freebies like character meals & gift certificate, which tripled since their last promo, so I don't really want to rebook with Orbitz, except if it saved a significant amount above & beyond the deal that we currently have, not to mention I booked it before the park ticket increase, although I think overall that only saves $15 ($5 pp)

I just did what you suggested but booked through Shop Discover link for Orbitz so I could get 5% cash back (instead of 3.5% from Ebates) by using my Discover card. So I was able to get the 20% off that Disney is offering, 15% off by using the Orbitz code, and saved $200 over my old reservation! Did I mention that was even with an upgrade to a premium room from a standard room? :cool1:

I ended up doing the same thing--first purchased through ebates, but cancelled that and went through Discover. However, there is a possibility Discover won't allow cash back because of the promo code, not sure.

Hmm, that's odd. I only compared the total cost of the DLR Website price and then compared to total cost with Orbitz. It was about $150 less through Orbitz.

I called and tried to book the promo through Costco first and I was going to lose all the extras that they give, so that plus the extra 15% off pushed me to cancel and rebook with Orbitz. Also, if you buy park tickets from Orbtiz they are the discounted kind...we are getting a 4 day park hopper for the price of a 3 day park hopper.

It appears that the DLR website prices are now operating at a 25% discount Sunday-Thursday and 10% discount Friday and Saturday (link).

However, looks like Orbitz is still operating on the 20% Sunday through Thursday discount. Regardless, Orbitz is still cheaper for me.

Also, the 20% off rate is now available through costco as well (link). I going to compare the Costco deal because we are going to eat at Ariel's Grotto for lunch (and the package includes premium character dining vouchers).

When I try the first link, pwillunlv, it takes me to a page that requires a special code. I don't see the offer on disneyland.com. Is this from an email offer, perhaps? I did find this, but it's for AP holders:

Just an FYI-Costo applies the discount, but they take away their gift card and voucher perks. It is hard to tell online, but when you go through the booking process those "special features" disappear and change only to the ESPN gift card. I talked to a Costco travel rep and confirmed that you no longer get them with the booking.

I received an email today for the 25% off. I am not an AP holder. The email has an "unique code". I am not sure if I am the only one who can use this code or if I can let someone else use it. I will not be using it so if someone wants the code I can give it to you to try.

Are you on some kind of mailing list? Wondering if I could try to get this offer. Bummer it is not transferable, but it was a nice thought :flower3:

I assume I was put on an email list when I made my reservation or requested a Disney Vacation Planning DVD. I requested the DVD because I read on these boards that they sometimes send you a discount "PIN" with your DVD. I didn't get a pin with mine but I have received a couple of these discount emails.

Love this board.

With the orbitz review15 15% off just booked the GCH for 4 of our 5 nights. This is a huge splurge for us and I am sooooo excited.

We got a 'Premium View' for only 70 bucks more for the stay than the courtyard view.

The Sat we arrive was 500 bucks so I couldn't swing that. But staying off site the first night will allow us to register at the GCH early in the AM and still get early entry :woohoo:

I feel great!

Like TreeDharni, I received an email (but I am not an AP holder). The site asks for my "Unique Offer Code" when I click on the link. I guess I must have gotten to that page by clicking on the link on the email and it have must entered the "Unique Offer Code" for me. It appears substantially similar to the AP offer, but does not have the FP and PP extras.

Regardless, using the 20% discounted rate through Orbitz (with the 15% discount code) is still cheaper by my accounting (unless the type of room you seeking is not available through Orbitz, if there is any difference). If you are staying on a weekend only, I the Orbitz rate is 5% better (R = Rack Rate):

0.15(R) > 0.10(R)

If any part of your trip includes an applicable Sunday-Thursday night, the gap between the two would widen to 7%. It's a 32% effective discount for Orbitz versus a 25% discount through the "special offer":

(0.20(R)) x 0.15 = 0.32(R)
0.32(R) > 0.25(R)

However, with Orbitz, you have to shell out the entire cost of the stay up-front versus one night if you go through Disney directly. But, unless you (1) do not have the money available, (2) have the money available but would charge it on a credit card on and would let finance charges occur (by not paying it off in time), or (3) have a magical savings account that bears you considerably more than the standard 0.00000001% interest, then the time-value of the money isn't much of a consideration at all.

Are you on some kind of mailing list? Wondering if I could try to get this offer. Bummer it is not transferable, but it was a nice thought :flower3:

I think you can sign up for such emails when you create an account at https://disneyland.disney.go.com/ Just and click on "Sign In or Create Account" and go from there.

Also, if you are not interested in stacking the 15% off Orbitz discount code with the 20% discount rate, you could still probably could call them, tell them you heard about the better discounted rate but didn't receive the email, and I bet you they would let you use the better rate (the 25% / 10% rate). They offer these rates for a reason--they want to fill up the hotels during low season.

If i have already booked with the disneyland website can i cancel and rebook? i paid a deposit, will i get that back?????

Has anyone done the same?
