I found myself singing "When this old world starts a-gettin me down, I go up where the air is fresh and sweet, ......." as I hung over the side of the house putting up Christmas lights yesterday. It was fun but today my legs hurt from the angle of the roof!

Our standard is still white icicle lights all around the house, colored lights along the wooden fence, the lamp post in front and the little pine tree. We added a giant air blower snowman last year when Isabella became part of our household! She adores him, its her job to remind my husband to go out and plug him in each morning!

We have a small house and yard and I think we've done about as much as is tasteful and affordable.

Do you decorate outside? What do you do?

I would be doing the same sort of thing. Luckily, just have to do my balcony which I have just accomplished!

:jumping1:

My Super saw me and reminded me that I should make it easy for her to take down again after the Season's over! She did not like that idea of having my decorations up in April!LOL

:rotfl:

This year it's two Mickey Wreaths, Garland going around the top, White and Multi-Coloured lights, a couple of red bows and some pine cones! Should be easy for her, don't ya think!LOL Oh yeah, hopefully this year I won't get sick from putting it all up! This year it's a balmy 39!

I had DH hang the roof lights last weekend. It was so nice here in PA (low 60's and sunny!) that I thought it would be the perfect time to get them up.:sunny: We didn't light them til Thanksgiving night, but it was nice to have them getting hung without someone getting frost bite! :hyper:

Its in the high 40's here this morning, and DH just finished with the white icicle lights and our new inflatable Santa. I added a few candy canes along the sidewalk and a Santa sign. I still have a few more outdoor lights, but I cant find them.
Our tree is done, now I need to get the empty boxes back in the attic.
DH took ds out for the afternoon, so as soon as I get off the computer I am cleaning, organizing and decorating the rest of the house.

White icicle lights (hopefully up next weekend), giant inflatable Santa, wreath on front door.
That's it, but no one sees it except us (and we are the important ones ;) ).....we live way back from the road.

we don't get up on the roof as such, just as far as the gutters & I'm a bit sore too, from the stretching. Got some more to put up when it cools down late this afternoon.

White icicles on the gutter, blinking multi-colored net lights on the bushes, candy canes rimming our lanscaping and multi-colored light (non-blinking) wrapped up the two brick posts on either side of our porch. Oh yeah, and a wreath on the door!

All done, and tree up and decorated, and all boxes back in the attic!

I just finished putting up lights on the roof of my dollhouse, does that count:D My uncle made it for me- it's a replica of the house I grew up in. Now that my daughter has outgrown playing with it i moved it to the dining room and decorate it for the different seasons and holidays:D
