Would love to hear from anyone who has received an upgrade.........where, when and what was it! Would be interesting to see which hotel is the most generous!

We have only stayed at Portofino so far and were not upgraded, but did get a lovely room with a balcony!

We got one back in AUgust 2007 from a standard room in the hard rock to club level.

what a great up-grade Keith!!!
Did you ask for one (nicely of course!!) or were you celebrating anything special!?

Yeah it was, so much so we are spending 7 nights this year at Hrh, Nope we didnt ask or were we clebrating anything. All they said was your on the 7th floor and to insert your key into the lift and there was me thinking had i booked the right room. This year i have enquired about booking club level for an extra $66 per night but still not sure yet

i get upgrades every year due to my all access card and loews membership.

quite a few times it has been to club or deluxe or suites.

i'm never in the room very much, always out in the parks or visiting with friends.

but, i'm not complaining.

We were upgraded from a bay view room to a deluxe club level room at PBH. We had asked about upgrading to a suite with our Loews membership, but it was going to be an additional $85/night so we declined. We were given the deluxe club upgrade free. It was nice to stay club, but not a big deal for us. A deluxe room on the other hand is now a requirement. ;)

Our one and only upgrade that was received not because of our Loews status was at Portofino. We had the normal Portofino upgrade because of the status but when we arrived we were really, really upgraded to the villa suite with two bedrooms and club service as well.

I had written a nice letter to the manager at the time since it was a very special reunion vacation for us and that is what we received. I have to say that it was absolutely wonderful as we were there for 7 days. It was also a very, very slow time at the resort and I'm sure we would not have received it if the hotel had been more booked.

No upgrades for us. HRH 3 times over the past year and booked a garden and got a garden. Even as an AP holder in May, no upgrade. Lowes' membership doesn't really help us at HRH. Actually our last rooms at HRH was a garden view, and we couldn't find the garden, as we only saw roofs of the lower parts of the building. We don't expect any upgrades, so if we ever get one that would be a surprise. We are headed back in August, so we'll see -- we are only booked in a standard.

HRH pulled out of the loews youfirst program a year ago.
the youfirst program will not help you for upgrades at that hotel.

it only is useful at pbh and rph.

Upgraded to a king suite on first visit, Kid Suite second time with comp valet parking and this coming September have a queen suite on club with comp valet parking.

We have a friend at the hotel, as well as Lowes Platinum and Rock Royalty membership at the HRH.

Yes we know that they don't participate in youfirst, but we still like staying there. I know they were/are currently offering passholders an upgrade, but we didn't think to ask when we checking in on May 3rd.

i'm sorry you didn't mention your ap in hopes of an upgrade.

i'm pathetic.
everywhere i go i always ask, do you accept the ap, aaa, etc.....

i figure the worse thing they can say is no.

I never thought of that. So, I should mention I'm an AP holder when I check into RPR. I already have the youfirst mentioned under my reservation.

Like you said...It can't hurt to mention it.

when you check in be sure to tell them you are a loews member.
the way the system is supposed to work is gold and blue members are to be allowed a free upgrade at check in time if a room is available.

platinum members can get the upgrade at the time of booking.

if no rooms are available for the upgrade when you check in, ask them to put you on a wait list for the upgrade when a room opens up during your stay.
they will move your belongings for you if you so desire.

if you are told no upgrades are allowed at all during your stay due to lack of rooms available, tell them then you also are a AP holder and would that help move you up the list for the free upgrade.

the worse thing they can tell you is no.

still, ask to be on the wait list for any room openings that is considered an upgrade.

when i was at blue level for loews membership, that is what i did.
they upgraded me to club level from a standard room on my 3rd night at the hotel.

We booked Garden view at RPR, paid to upgrade to Club & then had it comped due to issues with our room (does that count ;) )

Last year we booked stanadrd view @ HRH and were upgraded to Pool View as the hotel was only 40% full

We booked a standard room at RPR in 2007 and were upgraded to a King Suite. There was a huge convention which checked in right before us, and I think all the standard rooms were taken -- we didn't complain, it was truly lovely! We also didn't ask for the upgrade, I think we just had lucky timing...

Maria :upsidedow

We are leaving for PBH Sunday, have booked a club deluxe. I'm a "blue" Youfirst member, so I'm entitled to an upgrade if available.....we'll see. fingers crossed!

We stayed at pbh last oct. for hhn.We booked a reg. room but when we checked in they asked if we would like a upgrade ,i said how much and she said free.We were given a deluxe room.Loved it.Loved to do it again this year.

When asking how much would it be to upgrade for our trip this year, the said they would put us down for a complimentry upgrade to club level so i am very happy
