My kids downloaded this thing and it won't go away. I can't delete it either.

I want to get rid of it, any ideas?

you could try going into your "my computer" then c-drive then program files and its probably there. if not do a file search for "uogamer" and delete them all!

Already tried that, it says access denied. That either it's full, write protected or in use. It's not in use that I know of.

I really wish these kids would stop downloading stuff they know nothing about.

According to DH, he says have you used windows uninstaller? If that didn't work, use Norton it should uninstall the whole program. I know our dear nephew downloaded something like that and it was a major pain getting rid of it.

You can try going to www.download.com (singular not plural, plural sends you somewhere entirely different) and download spybot.

Spybot gets rid of all of those ad programs that change your tool bar etc. I didn't see this particular program on the list but it may be part of something else it will clean up. It has never failed to solve a problem of this nature.

Good luck!

I bet it's a virus-type thing. It's probably some kind of spyware that's running in the background. Hit Ctr, Alt, Delete all at the same time to bring up the task manager and see if it's running. If it's running, click on it and then click end task and then try uninstalling it.

I searched for that file and it looks like Spybot which I mentioned earlier will definitely clean it up. It does not appear to be a virus but more related to adware.

Unless they haven't opened it, you have yourself a virus. If they haven't opened it, right click and go to properties. Click the general tab and make sure all of the boxes beside Attributes aren't check. Then you should be able to delete it. If they've opened it, you need to take care of it with an antivirus program.

Hi guys. Well, whatever it is has taken out my internet connection and I can't get to my email either. Norton didn't catch it and it shut down Zone alarm too.

I don't know what it may have done, but I have no computer until I can figure it out.

so be careful, and if this has gone to anyone else through me, I'm terribly sorry.

You need to give your kids five across the eyes. Then they will know not to download anything more unknown files. :)

Oh yeah! They thought it was one of their games.

If you cant kill it, its proabley still running and had been placed in you startup folder. Bring up your windows task list and kill the process from there, then you should be able to delete the file.

I was able to find the file and delete it, but it's still messing up my computer.
I did the Norton anti virus, the zone alarm, uninstall and nothing worked. It took out Zone Alarm after I deleted it.

I was told not to touch it anymore until someone that knows what they are doing can get to it.
Thanks for the help everyone. I hope it won't be too long before I'm back.

Well, you better just start backing up the stuff that you need and reformat the thing. I've found that to be the best way to cure your computer after a virus.
