Question: We started our UOAP last year August 21, 2022. Is our last day of use August 20, 2023? Our flight times just got changed so we have a full day on the 21st- Woohoo!!!:flower:
Wondering if we should buy a one day ticket or just relax by the pool. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Brenda

I think your pass expires on the 21st, so you should be okay going into the park that day. Yay for flight change giving more time for fun.

Hi Lynne G! I would love it if we can use them on the 21st. It‘s the one time I’m happy that WestJet changed our flight time. :P
Thanks,
Brenda

I used to be confused by this and was told by Guest Services the easiest way to think is...it's still good on the same date as it started...so, started Aug 21st, 2022...still good on Aug 21st, 2023.
wagman67 - That’s wonderful news! And it’s easy to remember :thanks:

Do passes still start the day of first park entrance and not date of purchase?
As others have said, the activation starts with park entrance with the exception of renewals. If you renew, you keep the same expiration date, just a year later. You can renew 30 days before or after your expiration, and if you pay in full you will get 20% off. I know you didn’t ask about that, but thought I’d mention it as the topic comes up regularly. Sometimes people think if they do the renewal within the 30 day grace period after expiration they can extend the expiration to a year from the date the renewal was processed or the first day they visited on the renewed pass.

Thanks for adding this! We aren’t planning on renewing our pass but…..if we do go back it would be the following August.😜

Then renewal doesn’t make sense. We let ours lapse because we knew we’d be taking a year off, but I still bought 4 APs to hedge against price hikes. They’re ready to go when we return, which will probably be August.

Great idea to purchase them in advance! 👍

Yeah, we never do a renewal. Unless you know you are going to the parks the day after your AP expires, you are just shortening the available life of the card...even if by a day or two.

We also try to buy our APs, in advance, to hedge against the next price hike.

I have renewed mine for years because I was going 3 or 4 times a year. The 20% discount for renewals often makes more sense than buying a new one if you know you are going back. My last trip was in March and I’m not going back until November so I’m going to let mine expire in May; I have already purchased a buy 3 days get 2 free pass for Nov and will decide when there if I want to upgrade it.
