I read on the UO web site that the meal deal is $25ish a day and gives you unlimited food from lunch to 30 minutes prior to closing. Has anyone done this? Is it worth it? What about the restaruants there that accept it??? We want to go in april.....just wondering if we should do that or just pay for our food.

It is only the counter service restaurants, not the sit down restaurants. There haven't been many people who would recommend it here.

Unless you have teenagers who like lots of fast food type meals, it's probably better if just pay as you go.

It also doesn't include drinks (you'll need to pay something like $9 for the refillable mug). It is only entree & desert at a counter-service restaurant. Unless you will fully eat 3 meals between 11am and 9pm you won't get your money's worth. (I know in the hot humidity, I can't eat that much.)

I tried it out when they first offered it, and while I'm a big guy who likes to eat, I had a hard time eating enough to make it worth my money. I found myself ordering meals and taking a few bites out of them, just because I could (and to try different things I haven't had before).

It's convenient not having to shell out $ for each meal, but it may not be the best use of your money.

I have a 5 year old and a 2 year old. I know that the 2 year old could eat from my plate. Would it be wrong to just pay for it for my hubby and I and go get meals for them since its good all day??? Even if I paid for my 5 year old, couldnt I order 2 meals for me and two for my husband for my kids??? Would they let that happen???

We did it earlier this year and found that the only advantage was that if you didn't like the meal you got, you could get another one. It's also good if you eat a lot of food, which I didn't end up doing.

The food prices are reasonable enough at Universal that it's really not worth it, especially if you come to the park fed (breakfast) or bring a few snacks of your own.

I'm not entirely sure what you're asking but I believe you wear some sort of wristband (I am not sure, I've never done it), so I don't think you could get meals for someone else. Also they explicitly say that sharing is not allowed on the meal plan.

If you look at some of the dining menus here: http://allears.net/uni/menu/menus.htm the meal deal is not a value at all. You'll want to eat at Mythos once too, and the meal plan doesn't cover that. :)

Sharing is definately not an option. The employees watch the families that purchase the Meal Deal's like a hawk. Just to let you know, also. Right now the parks are closing at 6pm. Come the end of September, Universal Studios will be closing at 5pm to get ready or Halloween Horror Nights. This meal is a great plan when the parks are open extremely late. Now, there are only four restaurants in Universal Studios and four restaurants in Islands of Adventure that accept the Meal Deal. As someone mentioned, they are only open from 11am until 30 minutes prior to park closing. Does not include a drink, only a entree and an appetizer. The food is mostly fried foods, pizza, some salads, but not a large portion. These are the restaurants: Universal Studios-Mel's Diner (Hollywood), Monster's Cafe (Production Central), International Food and Film Festival (World Expo), and Louie's Italian Pizzeria (New York). Islands of Adventure-Circus McGirkus Cafe Stoopendous (Suess Landing), Burger Digs (Jurassic Park), Comic Strip Cafe (Toon Lagoon), and Captain America Diner (Marvel Super Hero Island). The International Food and Film Festival and the Comic Strip Cafe both have more of a food court feel to them. There are four different counters to choose from. Also more restrictions, yes you can eat as much as you want. However, each time you go through the line, you can only receive one meal. If you want another meal from that restaurant, you have to proceed through the line again. And yes, you do wear a wristband for each person whom has a Meal Deal. Hope it helps.
