Unviersal Tickets Question

So we are Disney people and are heading into uncharted territory by leaving the Disney bubble 🤪 to go to Universal for one day during our stay in June (either on a Tuesday or a Wednesday). We plan to just buy a one-day park-to-park Florida resident ticket.

1) If I buy a ticket for say June 22 but we end up wanting to go on June 23, will we be able to change our ticket or does Universal lock you in with no change options? I know Disney tickets never lose their value.
2) I assume the Universal date specific ticket does not guarantee admittance and we will still need to plan to arrive early to gain access?
3) Does Universal ever sell out of tickets for specific dates that would justify buying them in advance? I'd love to keep my options open based on the weather that week but I don't want to miss out on going and disappoint my Harry Potter loving daughter.

Thanks in advance for your help :)

I used to have a ticket sticky set up.....now I wish I did not remove it....

To change a ticket date that has the same price can be done at guest services
There is a UO guest service set up in City Walk and in the parks.

I can’t answer your other question about the Fl tickets but I’m sure someone will contribute their experiences using them.

UO is very flexible with Floridians tickets
They give decent discounts to them

We recently bought dated tickets and had to change the date, and personally found it to be a huge PIA. You’ll have to go there to pick up the tickets which is a hassle and I had several issues with their customer service. They certainly don’t make it easy like Disney with the app. My recommendation is to do your best to keep the original date. They told us you’ll get first priority since your ticket is dated, but you’ll still want to arrive in the first few hours of opening. I’d expect the summer to be pretty busy. We went last Friday before school is out (to my knowledge) and it was pretty packed.

Why not just buy an Annual Pass.
It's only $299 to $399.

Thanks! Sounds like we need to pick a date and stick with it. My daughter does not do any any thrill rides (kiddie coasters are even too much for her liking) and we just want to experience the Harry Potter World once. It is more like paying park admittance to shop 🤪. Tickets are $164 for park to park so that just seems like a better option than an annual pass.
