Last week I had a job interview. It was a night, after hours. Murphy's Law was really working overtime though. I had to work on a project that had to be done that night (even had to come back after the interview to do some of it). I printed off my resume just before I left to give to them, and the printer ran out of paper after 1 page (I have 2 pages). I got to the El (Subway), and the train I needed had just left (I saw it leave from walking down the stairs). I figured no problem, they run every 8 minutes. 20 minutes later, the next one showed up. The only phone I saw to call them had been completely removed. I got to the Montrose station 15 minutes late for the interview, tried to call (and it's an open air station, and it was the coldest night of the year so far) and got trapped in their voice mail. Didn't leave a message. Went to find a cab - nothing there. Walked 2 blocks down and then turned right. After a few more blocks down, came to find out I should have turned left. Got back to the intersection, it was 7:45; interview was set for 7:00. At that point, I figured it just wasn't meant to be.
I kept thinking, however, I should have sent a note of apology to them. Kept putting it off. Never did send it. Now we come to the strange part.
Yesterday, I got a call to reschedule the interview. Hmmm... I'm going again tonight (at least it won't be as cold). Figure they must have really liked my resume. Anyone else got any other thoughts?
