Unusual names?

I know someone whose first& middle is Vallie Lynn.

Kimya

My Mom actually named me after a greek girl she was a nanny for. It was the girls nickname and nobody remembers what the full name is...

oh I forgot, a cute guy I had the hots for named his DD Summer Love. His last name is Love.

When I was in grade school, one of our classmates was named "Kurt Shu" (like the sound you make when you sneeze).

In college I knew a female named, Stormy Winters. Not a nickname but a given name.

I wonder what their parents were thinking

My son's name is Tristan, I think it is more unique then odd though. We have since come across another boy a year older with the same name in my son's school.

I have a little girl in my class this year named Tristin.

Owen and Cordell...two brothers I babysat years ago.

Not unusual, but an unusual spelling. My dance team coach's name is Alysia (pronounced Alicia). Her mom spelled it as "Alysha" on the birth certificate, but I guess the handwriting was messy, and they misstook it for Alysia. Everyone calls her "Alyssa". It's cute, though.

My oldest daughter is a Love, they wanted me to name her Meagan. My ex MIL's name was Gay Love. :rotfl:

I once knew a family where all the kids were named weather related names. They had Dusty, Stormy, and Windy (not Wendy). Seems like there was another sister, but the name escapes me. I always wondered if one of the parents was a weather person? :confused3

I knew a guy named E Z Million and the E Z didn't stand for anything. That was his name.

Question from someone with a common name (Kathy), some of these names are really out there. For those of you a unusual name, do you like it, hate it, ever considered changing it?

There was an article last week in our local paper about this. Some of the recent hospital records show names such as Gucci, Navigator, Phat, etc...names of designer labels, cars.

I just have to wonder if having a name like some of these listed has a negative impact, like prediposing a person to a certain stereotype or giving off a bad first impression. Or is it the opposite? That a person was more likely to be remembered because of their unusual name?

My daddy's name is Irp. Yup, just like throwing up. My grandpa's name was Irp also and it's even my brother's middle name. Good thing I had a daughter ;)

My sister's name was Tertia pronounced Ter-sha.
My dad always said it meant 3rd born, but it really is 3rd daughter born. She was the 3rd but only the 2nd daughter.

I used to really dislike my name. Nobody spelled it right, then there were all the "valley" jokes when I was in school. When I showed horses nobody could pronounce my last name right either (McMahan ...pronounced macman).

Now I like it. It's unusual and when I call on customers for my work all I have to say is "this is Valli from XYZ Bank" and they know immediately who it is. :goodvibes

Bronwen, a girl's name. I think that it's actually some type of European name but I'm certainly not familiar with it.

I went to school with some sisters named Windy, Misty & Rainey. Another girl I went to school with was named Shiloh. A woman I work with is named Season.
My mom wanted to name me Sunshine

It is Welsh. I love that name! It can either be a boys name or a girls name, but the spellings are different. I can't remember the difference though. It has been a looooong day.

My oldest daughter had a friend in her 4th grade class named "Africa" but it was pronounced "a-free-kah". Poor kid.

My sister interviewed a girl named "Everoda" (pronounced "ever-odd-ah") for a job years ago.
