Is it just me, or has anyone else notice that the CM's who make room reservations all seem to have unusual names? Or are these "names" assigned by Disney? I can't think of all of the names right now, but every time I've called WDTC (looking for AP rates) this week, the CM had a strange name. A few I recall: Primrose, Hendrix, Morganna.

I'm going to have to start writing them down, and then I can publish my own book of strange baby names! :p

They must be given to them so they are easily recognizable? I imagine there'd be too many Johns, Marys, and Pats otherwise. Now that you mention it, I think I have had my share of unusual names when I've called too.

your are right on divamom...there is only one of each name in the call center so when kudos/complaints are made they know exactly who to go to.

You can add my two to your list.

April 26th spoke to a male CM named Fisher
April 27th spoke to a female CM named Mimi.

Never thought of it before either but I've talked to some people with very unique names.

The other day spoke to a girl named Paris
A few weeks ago talked to a lady named Varsha

Definitely won't have trouble remembering those....especially Paris ;)

One time, I spoke with a cast member, and she said, "This is <insert unusual name I can't remember>" and then she said, "Wait, I'm <insert second unusual name I can't remember>." So, I guess they change the names as well.

The CM name tags may not be the actual CM names too. I found this out when I met a white scandinavian CM with a very latin name! LOL... He was definitely not latin, since he came from Sweden!

If a cast member has a unique name or they were hired years ago, they are able to use their real names. But like the previous posters have pointed out, most people have common names and would cause too much confusion if there were more than one with the same name.
That's why CMs pick from a list of pre-approved "stage names".

I just thought of 2 names that stand out...Cinderella and Baloo.
They are actually a married couple...:p

They are assigned names. They actually go through a list and give them a name. They are not allowed to use their real names.

Recently I called Guest Relations and asked to speak to someone I had dealt with before on a reservation. The CM I talked to said that there was no one by that name there. I asked her to check and she said that she had been there a number of years and "knew the names used by everyone there as well as their real names".

I've had 'Ursula' and 'Dorcus' (which I know is a real name, but pretty uncommon) recently.

I seem to recall having 'Nala' in the past as well.

I've noticed this, too, I've spoken to "Dove" and "California" and I think "Snow."

I had the pleasure of speaking with Cinderella, haha,
when I asked about the names being so different , I was told by CM that no two cm's working a certain day can have the same name , that they are assigned names , and keep record of who had what assigned name what day , that way if there is a problem or question with data/ information given they can go directly to that person , so its a wise move when talking to them to note the date and the name of the cm you talked to .
