Morning Hyenas!

I crashed early last night. dh begged me to come to bed. He said he thinks I need to force myself to get more sleep. I know he's right. i dont get enough. I've been moody lately. Well, moody for me and he's noticed it.

I havent said anything to you all but my mom's Rheumatologist appt did not go well. My mom has osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis and fibromyalgia. Heck probably a lot of other stuff she does not tell me. Well I went to one of her appts the other day. she usually does not want me to go to this DR but I showed up unannounced and I realized why. She takes like 30 pills a day. Ok maybe 20 but its crazy, then she goes in for Remicade treatments every 6 weeks. Well she has been doing this for years but it started making her sick so they took her off of it. She switched to some other kind of injection I cant remember what but it made the pain worse so they went back to remicade but apparently its not taking this time. She's been on it for a year and neither the DR or my mom has seen an improvement. Remicade is not supposed to cure or fix arthritis but it slows down the progress but this past year it has doubled its progress. The DR was completely baffled.

My mom kept asking her to stop talking in front of me but I'm on all the medical releases and she finally convinced her that I need to be aware of how bad her medical condition really is and how serious this is going to progress in the future.

I mean we talked about her living with us, we talked about long term care somewhere (this was against what my dad wanted) we talked about all kinds of circumstances where if in a couple years it just becomes too bad where she cannot and should not be alone we figure out what is best. I guess its been weighing on my mind lately.

Anyway, there is no way I'm letting her go to this DR's appt on Monday about the elective surgery without me now. there might be more to the story.

I just feel so bad. She's so young she's only 58 and you all know how lively and active she is. :sad1: Yes I get frustrated with her every now and then like a mom would with a teenager daughter (the rolls have switched!!!) but I love her more than anything in the world and this is tearing me apart.

Alright ladies I just finished on a path of self discovery.

Come with me if you will.

This past hour I have been cleaning out underneath my bathroom sinks in our master bathroom. I have been having trouble shutting the doors lately and stuff spills out of them when I open one to get something.

Ok so here is what happened. I opened them to pull out some lotion. 8 bottles of junk fell out so I thought "I should clean this out, what else am I doing right now?" So I set aside the rubbing alcohol, nail polish remover, hair spray, glitter hair gel (can you guess who this is for, Jeff):lmao: and got started. I noticed I collect lotions that I never use. I mean I have some in there that are probably 10 years old. I know I moved a couple of them from Florida. They were tossed.

Then one body butter looking one smelled nice so I lathered it on my knee just to get the feel if I wanted to keep it or not. It was from Origins and I have not been shopping there for more than 3 years so I figured it might still be good if I still wanted it. Smelled deliciious. I noticed it wasnt rubbing in like I thought though. I decided to put it aside and see.

So next thing I notice is that I can never find a cotton ball when I need one and that is because they are all at the bottom of my cabinets. They apparently have fallen out of my drawer holders down the back and into the bottom of the cabinets. So I cleared all of those.

Then I had at on of individual eye tear eye drops spread out all over the bottom too. How on earth did they get out of the box that is sitting upright? Did they have a party one night and couldn't make it back up into the box? :confused3 :lmao:

I had 3 large bottles of listerine. Under the other cabinet I have one large bottle of listerine that I use everyday and when that is out I go buy more. Didnt know at the back of this cabinet I had the 3 other large bottles. And I 'm talkin the HUGE bottles too. How could I miss that?

Then I have 8 different types of hair straighters and at the same time 5 different types of curl enhancers under there. All from 8 years ago. In the trash they all went. I have wavy hair and apparently I went through a very undecided time in my life as to what to do with it! :rotfl: My current hair stylist doesnt like any of that stuff so he has me buying 2 products total one for straight one for curly thats it. Why do I need all the others???

Then I have 6 boxes of feminine products. 6 boxes. This might be TMI but I have an IUD and except for the occasional mishap spotting (once a year) or last years miscarriage I have not a period in 4 years. :confused3 Why do I have these. :rotfl2: Funny thing is the other day I felt I needed something and I just went and bought light days liners just in case. LOL should have looked under my cabinet but I was scared too much stuff!!!

Then I have like 9 HUGE bottles of bubble bath. Not kids bubble bath either. My vanilla or euycalyptus scented bubble bath. I have only taken a bath twice in this house. I remember when we built it I was set on having the seperate garden tub. I had to have it. Well, I thought I would relax but I found when I was in the tub I was so bored. Even with a book I didnt want to be in there so we dont use it at all. I put them back under the sink just in case I get the urge someday to take a bath. sigh.

So there you have it. Now I have a half empty cabinet space under my sinks. I'm sure by next week it will be crammed full of stuff I'm afraid to look at again.

Oh by the way that body butter I put on my self from origins was not lotion it was shaving cream. So off to the shower. I just noticed!!! :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Shawna-I'm sorry to hear about your mom. I'm glad that you were able to find out what was going on. That is not a good secret to keep from your loved ones, but then again maybe she was afraid to tell you? :confused3 Whatever the reason, I'm glad that you know. You are an awesome daughter!

Sweet Bambi you just described my bathroom cabinets!! :rotfl: Minus the hair glitter though! :rotfl:

I have so much crap under my bathroom sink that I need to clean out. I have lotions from GAP, Bath and Body Works, Victoria's Secret, etc. Most of them were mine from years ago that I need to toss out and some were given to me as a gift during Xmas but I didn't like the scent.

I have perfume too that I don't use. I have one that is Cupcake by Jessica Simpson. It smells really really good but if you spray some on your neck it makes it sticky all day. :crazy2:

I also have Juicy Couture lotion in a huge bottle that I don't use. I think the smell is too strong for me.

Now I need to clean out my cabinets! :rotfl:

The only things I use are in baskets in my closet. I have a ton of Country Apple hand foam soap from B&BW and their Vanilla Noel lotion. I also have the apple anti-bacterial that I always carry with me. I also have the vanilla lotion from Victoria's Secret and their Strawberries & Champagne lotion.

Good morning, hyenas!
It actually snowed on our walk to school!

Well, maybe it's called something else, it was sort of like icy rain. The kids loved it, but it was a bit chilly for me, and poor little DS3's hands were freezing by the time we got home. :cold:

Now we're just killing time until I can get to a Kits store (they're not open yet, I think they open around 10.) DH burned a CD last night of all the photos for DS3's ABC album, so I'll take them in to print and then ask for help with my camera, which is jamming and giving a non-helpful error message. :headache:

Tomorrow at the workshop I'm going to try to get the bulk of the ABC album done, since I want to give it to DS3 for his birthday next month. :goodvibes

Shawna, I'm sorry to hear about your mom's health problems. She is awfully young to have such troubles.

The tour through your bathroom cabinet was a hoot! Mine is actually in fairly good condition... but perhaps that's because I have two bags of BBW stuff sitting out in the open? :rolleyes1

Hey, it was a huge sale, it couldn't be helped...

You want to hear something freakish?

Yesterday I was coming up with a math problem for DS7 to solve. Lately I've been making up story problems related to money because they're working on money amounts in class. I've been doing fairly complicated problems, like having him add up coins of different amounts using multiplication, then subtracting some.

So the problem yesterday went something like this: DS7 wants to buy a new football. The football he wants costs $20. DS7 has 7 dollar bills, 13 quarters, blah blah blah. How much more money does he need to buy the football?

So he says , "It's $13.90." He sometimes just throws out a number without trying to solve the problem, so I have to walk him through the process.

I knew the answer was supposed to be around $6 and some change, so I said, "No, honey, you need to figure out how much all the quarters are worth, all the dimes, all the pennies, add them all together, and then figure out what the difference is between that and the cost of the football."

He insists, "It's $13.90."

"No, it isn't. Now please multiply the amounts for the coins, then add them all up. Then we'll subtract the total from the cost of the football. Now we have $7 in ones [I write down $7.00], and 13 times 0.25 equals...?"

We walk through all the coins, then add it all up, and do you know what the total was? $13.90. :scared1:

He sighs, "That's what I told you, Mama. I already knew that." He'd added it all up in his head in seconds. :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Oddly, he did have trouble figuring out the rest of the problem until I wrote it out as a math problem.

Did I mention that DH can amortize a loan in his head in seconds? When we buy a car, he knows what the payments are going to be, within pennies! Found that out when we bought a car and the doofus finance guy ran numbers through his little amortizing calculator and DH told him he was wrong, it should be X. The guy insisted he was right, DH insisted he was wrong and demanded he run the numbers again. DH was right, and I think the actual payment amount was like two cents less than what DH thought.

Thank goodness he got Daddy's math gene instead of Mama's. :rotfl:

OK, it's 10:00 so we're off to the camera store. Hopefully they can help me with the camera. I'm pretty sure it's just a setting issue (at least that's what I'm hoping!) I'm so clueless about all the features, it's pretty sad. :sad2:

So hope you all have a great morning, and I'll probably chat again at nap time. :)

Good Morning Hyena's!!!

I have to throw out a big thank you - you all took it easy on me last night and it was very easy to catch up :rotfl2: :thumbsup2

Shawna - sorry to hear about the continued problems with you mom :goodvibes . Hopefully now she will let you be a bit more aware with what is going on.

I too loved your bathroom story - and we had a similar experience twice as we were moving. FIRST of all we eliminated a BUNCH of crap before we even boxed it up. I too must throw out TMI, and DH laughed as he threw out boxes and boxes of old feminine hygiene products (I too have an IUD and have forgotten what they are for - but I am DREADING December  ). I am not a lotion person, and we still threw out quite a few bottles, baby oil, 10 year old aloe and other sunscreen products and WHO KNOWS WHAT ELSE. Needless to say we were quite proud of ourselves as we eliminated bags upon bags of crap from the house in Gilbert. So....fast forward 6 months...and all our stuff was stored in a storage unit outside of our rental house. We went to move the boxes and were HORRIFIED when we found out we had a major leak, and 10 boxes were DESTROYED!!! In a panic we quickly opened all the boxes - and guess what - it was all USELESS!!! Why the heck we decided it was worthy of 10 curly fry boxes and important enough for a 180 mile ride I have NO IDEA!!! :lmao:

 Shawna, that was alot for you to process all at once. Those are hard decisions for anyone to face. My parents are just well enough to care for themselves but I can see in the future that my dad will need hands on help. It's hard to see those roles reversed.

You bathroom cabinet post was hilarious! I buy extras and then forget them all the time, or I think I bought an extra.. grope thru the cabinet and find-- oh yeah I bought more face cleanser NOT face lotion-- now why did I do that??

I tossed out outdated meds with an expiration from 2003, apparently I found this burning need to pack it and bring it along for the ride during our move?

At least my stash of shampoo and BBW items is relatively small-- for this year.:rolleyes1 I gave about three bags full to my sis before we moved. Right now I have a small box sitting out in my bathroom, hmmm pack it or give it away? I don't think I will use 8 bottles of warm vanilla sugar body wash by July.

As for supplies-- I need those, I buy them whever they are free after rebate. I moved this large box full of stuff when we had the move from St Cloud to New Brighton (MN).. forced myself not to buy more and succesfully used it all before we moved again. :thumbsup2 But I must say.. it was REALLY REALLY HARD not to buy more .. but but but IT'S FREE!!!

DH is still taking steady doses of Dr. Pepper (I know, super healthy, but it works for now :thumbsup2 ). I am hoping things will lighten up at work - as we have wonderful news!!! His shouldn't be crew person assistant manager (who tends to cry, yell, throw things and otherwise upset the balance of nature) gave her two weeks notice :cool1: She did so bad yesterday, upsetting not only an employee (she called the mom of his 17 yo GF to let her know what a horrible kid he was, and that she wouldn't let her 17yo date him :sad2: ), got into a huge fight which involved the office, and pissed off not only the whole crew and a bunch of customers.....SO....last night I deactivated her safe key, and when she came into work today DH let her know that he had accepted her resignation, and she need not come back :dance3: . I could already hear the relief in his voice - so hopefully this will help a bit too :goodvibes

Dizzy! Is this the same person who takes vacations and doesn't come back when she says she will??? If so, :woohoo: !!! That has got to be a huge load off your DH's shoulders!

I can't believe she called the mother of an employee's girlfriend! I think it's out of line to call the employee's mother, let alone somebody not even related to the job, that is truly awful!

Hopefully things will get back on an even keel for everyone, things definitely seem to be looking up at least. :goodvibes

DH just called, and he decided to move up a meeting (the other person wanted to leave early today) and come straight home! He should be here in about 10-15 minutes. :yay:

DS3 is sitting in a wicker and rattan hamper, with one binkie in his mouth and two others under his nose. I know, I know; he's nearly 4, he shouldn't have binkies, and "biggie sniffing" is really strange... And why is he in the hamper? :confused3

He actually only uses the "biggies" when he's falling asleep, and now can fall asleep without them. But if he finds one, he must have it at naptime. And he has a thing about crawling into things. He crawls into laundry bags, hampers, suitcases, boxes, cabinets, even a bookcase once and fell asleep on a shelf. (Yes, I have a photo of it.) :rotfl:

I better get him fed and down for nap, I'm running a little late today. On a positive note, I got the photos printed for DS3's ABC book! I'm so excited to work on that tomorrow at the scrapbook workshop!!!

ACTUALLY, it is a different manager :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: (see why I work so much :rolleyes1 ) It has been me, DH, and these two nimwits. She was actually SUPPOSED to be the better of the two and the assistant manager (even though she wouldn't survive as a crew person in the valley) She is a mother of 4 boys, and in her late 40's so you would EXPECT her to be somewhat responsible, but NO. She talked crap to everyone, was lazy and pretty much a waste of space. The other girl (the one who fails to come back from vacation) actually did a great job, made it back the day she promised (she was threatened her job) actually came back with a great attitude, and we found that mornings are her calling (everyone she knows sleeps late, so there is no one to goof off to :yay: )

Yay on your DH coming home!!! :woohoo:

Should I be scared...you tapered off there without your positive note  :faint:

Come Back Alex!!! Give me a positive note!!!

A? A Sharp? A flat??? Don't leave me hanging :rotfl:
