woohoo another DIS hiccup

awww that's sweet wiht the post it notes.. see-- suprise him with something like that and mayeb he will get the hint and reciprocate.

I hated when hubby worked nocs, we only saw each other as he clocked out and I clocked in (quick peck and away we go) -- he was miserable and feeling lousy---- not everyone is meant to work that shift. Thumbs up to you and your hubby for keeping it going. I couldn't handle the routine of him being home, but not available to us (sleeping).

So G, I don't mean to be too nosey, but what does life look like for you guys in MN? Does DH hope to find a part-time teaching position? And you'll look for work again? In what field?

It must be comforting to be going back to an area you're already so familiar with, you know about the schools and neighborhoods, bus routes, shopping areas, etc. I'm still going to miss hearing about the Dominos guys in the snow, though.

Yep, I got hung up for awhile. I've had so much trouble with the network connection lately I wasn't sure at first whether it was local or the DIS.

I should do something for him! Now I will have to think on that for a bit.

DH has worked nights almost since he started working for the shop he is at now...thats like 12 years, I think? He was on swing for a bit when we met... Got put on days for about 3 months. I think that only 8 months out of 12 years he has worked nights. You know... It SUCKED at first, but now we are so used to it. We have talked about pushing for another shift... but I dont know. He is pretty much in charge of his shift right now, and can do what he wants in relation to vacation time.. PLUS, he is the only one his boss trusts to do the job.

Hubby still qualifies for disability (he's on his transition year), he can work and earn a certain dollar amount and still get benefits. At this point he's thinking of doing subbing (good experience), tutoring thru one of the chains (like Slvan), or after school programming (which he did as a student teacher). But he also toys with the idea of having another classroom


I can work in preschool again, it was too hard to line it up here-- different qualifications and lots of places want you to have the teacher permit (which takes MONTHS to process and is pricey) plus there just isn't anything around here.

I can hope that my former mentor at Head Startloses her assistant at the end of the year but I won't count on it. Plenty of day care facilities in the area... that I know how to get to!

And I can do my demo stuff again, they always need a few warm bodies.

I know! Me too! My sister and I have been in touch for a little over a year ow, and she knows EVERYTHING about me. Everything. And I do mean... everything. We were just talking about how the next time we see each other, we wont be able to look at each others DHs the same!

Can't say I'm that close to my sis but her hubby talks to mine and well.... umm... I know things about my sis that I bet she woult not share with me. I feel sorry for my BIL, and sorry for sis that she umm needs some help in that dept..


Can I just say, I love my love life and OMG I would be a mess without it!
