I'm feeling a little pooped myself. :rotfl:

Not sure how long I'll be here, but I'm gonna hang out for a bit. :)

Hmmm....I guess I missed another hyena party :( My boyfriend was not feeling well today so he went to an Urgent Care. He was told that he has bronchitis  :sad1:

GOOD MORNING HYENAS!

Alex, I didnt get to read it last night but I'm going to try today. I bet its GREAT!

Today is WW weigh in day. Wish me luck. The first day last week I was hungry but I think it had to do with the fact that I just started so mentally I knew I couldnt pig out! From then on I've been exercising and eating healthy again. I've already noticed a difference in how I feel. :cool1: Dh was so proud of me the other night because I had planned on getting on the elliptical and my mom called and asked if I would meet her for dinner and I said "NO! I'm going to work out now". She said "you can do that anytime" I replied "nope, I saved this time to do it and I'm going to stick to it." She was a little shocked and even through out my favorite Mexican food as an alternative but I said NO! I didnt budge. Finally I can start making that new years resolution of taking care of myself come true!

pix, I hope your bf feels better soon. :grouphug:

Cute!!!

And you GO Shawna!

Good Morning Staley! Both that babies a little stinker already. Last week he was constipating you and this week he's peeing all over you. I predict this baby will be a handful!:lmao:

So why does everyone like Crocs so much? I got a pair on my last DL trip and while I thought they were ok, they weren't nearly as comfy as my Adidas Ayuna's. They are WAY more comfy than Crocs. Now I can tell you that I hate Flip Flops and I hate having anything between my toes, but for some reason I love these. My sister loves them too, but has trouble finding them in Florida. I just found her a pair yesterday on sale! They are awesome. They have memory foam in them and your feet just sink into them.:thumbsup2

Oh and for you NW gals, Fred Meyer has them on sale for $19.99 right now. Kohl's usually carries them in the Spring also. As summer rolls around they are really hard to find as everyone sells out of them.

So while you young mothers were dealing yesterday with allowing kids to watch certain movies or not, here's what I got to deal with when I got home. As I walked through the door and didn't even have time to set my purse down or take my shoes off.

DD: Mom, remember my friend ******.
Me: Yes, why?
DD: Well she has a problem and needs emergency contraception. You always said that any of my friends could come to you if they needed help with birth control or anything else.
Me: (Inside :scared1: :scared1: :scared: ).
Me: (Outwardly). OK, what is the story.
DD: Well she just got birth control pills a week ago and started taking them, but had unprotected sex 2 days ago and is worried that she could get pregnant
Me: Let me go take a bath, relax and think about what to do.
DD: OK, I'll call her and tell her you'll think of something.
Me: :scared: :scared1:

So last night after calling pregnancy hotlines & pharmacies I learn that Plan B is available to women over 18 without a prescription, but under 18 needs a prescription. I was tempted just to head to the pharmacy, tell them it was for me and get the pill(s). But I did the right thing, she is going to call her doctor today and get a prescription called in to a pharmacy. DD is giving her money to cover the cost and if she needs a ride to the pharmacy I will pick her up this afternoon.

Me & my big mouth, that's what I get for telling DD that her and her friends can come to me with any problem. :rotfl2: Seriously I'm glad she did though and in spite of Chelsie & I having the typical teen daughter & mother spats, it made me relieved that she was comfortable enough to allow me to help. But the inside of me is freaking out. I've known most of these girls since they were in elementary school and I still picture them in pigtails about 8 years old.

OK, I'm calmed down now.

Good grief Alison!! I don't blame you for feeling the way you did when your DD came to you. On the other hand, it's really cool that you were there for your DD's friend. Sometimes it's really difficult to go to ones own parents and discuss certain things and it's mainly due to fear.

I'm going to sound like a parent for a moment and say that it was extremley foolish for her to have unprotected sex. It doesn't matter if you are on the pill or not, you should still use condoms as a backup. Birth control pills or condoms are not 100% effective, I understand there are still chances of getting pregnant, but honestly, if you aren't ready to become a parent, then you shouldn't be having unprotected sex. It's good that she is going to her doctor.

Okay- *steps off soapbox*

GOOD MORNING HYENAS!

Yesterday I bought Mr. Maggorium's Wonder Emporium on DVD. It's a cute movie and I liked it. :goodvibes Dustin Hoffman is a hoot. :teeth:

I watched American Idol (I recorded it) and Making the Band4. I don't know why I like Making the Band but it's interesting. I wouldn't want P. Diddy as a boss. He seems scary and intimidating :scared:

I got an e-mail this morning saying that my pain in the rump customer is no longer at the company.

They don't know who is replacing him yet. This explains why he hasn't responded to my e-mails and phone calls this week.

Yes, I wanted to give the lecture too. But I just gave DD some extra money and said when she goes to the pharmacy tomorrow tell her to please also buy some condoms & contraceptive foam to use for the next few weeks. If she is to embarassed to buy them, call me at lunch time and I will run to the pharmacy and get some. We live in a small town and there are 2 pharmacies in town, one at Safeway and another independent one. So I can understand her reluctance at not wanting to be seen by everyone in town buying birth control. :thumbsup2 It's unfortunate, but a part of small town life. I also relayed the message that she should always use condoms in addition to her pills to reduce the chance of STD's.

By the way Pix, you would make a great mother!:)

:yay: :yay: :yay: Hopefully they don't replace him with someone worse though! I've had that happen before, pain in the rear managers, replaced by someone that is a bigger pain in the rear! Luckily, all of our managers are pretty good right now. I do have one that I have some problems with, but I think that is due more to his male ego than anything else. If there's one thing that I've learned over the years, don't butt heads with the male ego. Just let it go and life will be much easier.

You only have 2 pharmacies? Wow. I could understand her feeling embarassed to buy those things. Even in this day and age where there are so many chains of CVS Pharmacies, Walgreens, etc., I still see some people who are embarassed when they are being rung up for contraceptive products. :confused3

Oh gravy, I don't want kids. They would probably be called Omen1 and Omen2. :rolleyes1 :sad2:

I hope they aren't worse either! This guy was just really incompetent and didn't know what he was doing. He even ignored e-mails from people within his company (different office location) and they would C/C me in the e-mails and ask him why he wasn't answering them.

Actually up until they built Safeway about 4 years ago we only had 1 pharmacy. I remember when we were trying to get pregnant with DD and I went to the pharmacy for a pregnancy test kit. Who do I run into but a good friend of DH standing in line behind me. Who just kept staring at the test, until I finally said "yes, we are pregnant"! It was the 3rd test I bought, guess I was in denial, even though we were trying!:lmao:

Everyone in a small town knows your business. That is both good & bad, because they are there to help when you need it, everyone watches out for everyone else's kids. But privacy is really a luxury. If you want privacy, you drive 30 miles into Portland to buy a pregnancy test!:lmao:

Hallefreakin'lujah! This calls for drinks! :woohoo:
Too bad we don't really drink... :rotfl:

Do you suppose he was so completely stupid that he couldn't get that ordering right? Or perhaps he was a donkeyyyyy in human form? :sad2:

Congratulations for outlasting him, pixster. Hopefully you'll get somebody decent from there to take over his role soon. But I guess with their track record, you'll just have to wait and see how this person does...

Whoa, back up! Looks like I need to read back a bit, Sam, to find out what the heck is going on...

Finally I can start making that new years resolution of taking care of myself come true!
Wow! Good for you for sticking to YOUR plans instead of accomodating your mom's whim.

You withstood the guilt and manipulation, and did something you knew was good for you... in so many ways! And in the long run will be good for your mom, once she gets used to the new you. :thumbsup2

OK, I'm calmed down now.
Sam, I read about your evening looking pretty much like this:

WOW. See, my mom always said the right words, but would not have dealt with something like that well. She wanted to be a mom like you, but she just wasn't, especially about anything to do with THAT subject. :rotfl:

I think you did a great job, because she's newly on the pill, and whichever doc prescribed that, this other pill should be in their records as well, in case something goes wrong. I presume she called her doc to get the prescription, so that should be covered.

I have to admit, I think I would have absolutely panicked first, and if I could come out of the panic, hope I would have come up with a plan as good as yours. Well done! :thumbsup2

I was raised to be very modest... OK, OVERLY modest about that sort of thing. To the point that I never walked around my own house in the nude, and once when I went to the store to buy feminine products, I was horrified to see two management type guys (in suits) down that aisle discussing something. I walked around the store picking up my other items, but when I went back to that aisle they were still there! :headache:

I waited a bit, they still were there, so I finally just walked as fast as I could down the aisle, grabbed my box of OBs and out the other end of the aisle without raising my head. It must have looked totally hilarious! And I was married then! :rotfl2:

Of course, having kids rids you of a lot of inhibitions. I rarely get to go to the bathroom or have a shower in peace. :sad2:
