Looks like I missed a fun night of hyena chit chat.. but that's ok.. I spent my evening at Disneyland.:cloud9:

Yes, I am spoiled.. loving a week off school/work for Thanksgiving.
Tonight we got to DL around 4:30 pm, managed to be on Main Street when they lit up the tree for the night. Nice little announcement, everyone yells "Happy Holidays" and poof the lights go on the tree.. everyone cheers :woohoo:

Hit a few rides, noticed they piped in the music for the "snow time" in Fantasyland.. howver, all the fiberoptic lights are on the FRONT of the castle. You see just the sides and the back sides of the icicles lit up on the back side of the castle. Odd choice to pipe in music when you can't really see the effect in FL -- and it doesn't snow there.

Walked over near Small World.. it has its own special effect after the "snow time". Projected images flash across SW to music. It was very cool.

Walked around Toon Town to check out the decorations and went on Roger Rabbit. We don't usually go to Toontown, it was fun to revisit the area.. hubby had forgotten most of it.

Debated riding Star Tours after being on Buzz, looked at eh time.. ohhhhh close to fireworks! Staked a spot on Main Street, hubby got snacks. I joked with hubby that I forgot my kleenex, he joked back that I could use the parchament paper from our churros.. hmm , not very absorbant dear.. so he offered the empty popcorn container instead. Very funny dear.

Noticed a bunch of young 20 something amazon people had chosen to honor us by standing in front of my vertically challenged family. Squeezed over a few inches and got a perfect view, edged the shorter child in fornt of me.. leaving hubby to suffer behind the amazons along with our not so vertically challenged teenager.

ohh , ahhh, sing along to songs, sniffle sniffle. Hubby goes "where's tinkerbell?" .. no tink in holiday fireworks.. "They need tinkerbell!" hmmmm, I think you're right.
We laughed at the DL snow not being even close to looking like a real snow storm.. some landed on my lip.. yuckkkkkkkkkkkkk ewwwwww spit spit sputter.

Slithered our way thru the crowd, wasted some time in TL waiting for crowd to clear. Made our way to ROA for Fantasmic! , our usual spot was still open. Enjoyed the show.. went on HMH and headed home.

It was very foggy.. still not used to that. No mishaps, we agreed that the drive gets shorter and shorter. Helps that we drive when the highway is not busy.. or going opposite of rush hour crowd.

Waitng for hubby to unwind, check email.. read back a few.. And yes please include me for sharing a room on Ladies trip.. Love HoJo's.. my home away from home.. however CCI would be nice to try too! breakfast, shuttle, closer walk.. sounds good to me!

hmmmmmmmmmmmmm, except CCI has smaller rooms than HoJo :scared1:

HoJo's home office rooms are enormous, enough that you don't have to put away a rolling cot. PLENTY of room. ... just something to consider. :confused3

off ot bed, I even have my heat on tonight.. chilly when we got home.

Good Mornin my dears!!!! I am the first to post as it seems....I have been up since 5:30 for some unknown reason:confused3 I am wide eyed and bushy tailed...Maybe its because I am excited about tomorrow and then the day after I will start my decorating for Christmas:banana: :woohoo: I cant wait...this year is going to be so great seeing Tristans face when he sees all the lights on...its always so magical to me and I cant even begin to figure out what his little mind will take in...the only thing I'm NOT looking forward to is his getting into everything:headache: I just know Im going to have loads of broken bulbs:headache: :headache: oh well ...they are just bulbs I guess...now when I wrap gifts though....oh man the little devil:lmao: anybody got any suggestions on how to get a 1yo to listen? no is just another word to him right now:confused3...anyway its about 41º here and high should get to about 61º today...so it is really starting to cool down here...:yay: :dance3: pix, man I have seen how warm it has been down there...I'm so glad it hasnt been like that here sheesh....so anyways, I have work today and then Im off to do my shopping for tomorrow....I will be getting up very early to go to my friend Chrissy's house to cook and will be eating early dinner with her and her family and then we are off to Tristans moms house where all the family will be for another dinner...last year I was too stuffed to eat at the fam's house after eating dinner at Chrissy's but I am going to do my best to not eat as much so I can eat later...but whatever happens I know I will get loads of leftovers...I totally love leftovers...Tiff hates them so I always have to make sure she has stuff she can eat since I dont cook for like 3 days after thanksgiving:rotfl: anyways, I'm not sure if I will be able to get on when everybody else is so I just wanted to say Happy Thanksgiving to all you guys:grouphug: and Pix have a GREAT time on the cruise...I totally want a TR when you get back...make sure you take loads of pics of your room and the food and everything in the ship.....Staley, I saw how your gonna cook the dinner and was wondering about a veggie side dish...almost everybody I know makes a green bean casserole...its always on tv and its really really delish...if you google it you will get the recipe...its also on campbells cream of mushroom soup labels...its really really good:goodvibes ...so everyone have a good day and a wonderful Thanksgiving...

My dad got a fryer one year and was frying EVERYTHING, including the Thanksgiving dinner. This was before DH's heart stuff, but only 4 or 5 years ago, so just before. But we both would get sick as a dog after eating it! And it didn't taste good, it was so greasy! Blech. :scared:

I don't know if they still use the fryer, but at least not when we're coming over. Whew!

Staley, did you see the news report about the woman on Bainbridge Island who came home to find a black bear in her backyard??? :scared1:
They think he swam to the island. But WHY???

Do you know there are lots of bears on the Long Beach peninsula. One night we were sitting around our campfire and one ran right down the middle of the road. On the 4th of July they are all over the place because the fireworks scare them.

Fox news is showing dirty secrets behind hotel rooms, even the most luxurious ones!!!

So what's the deal with the hotel cups? I know we use real glasses in ours, but they are washed in the dishwasher, which gets inspected by the health department, and has to be up to a certain temperature.

I know there are germs everywhere, and the average hotel room is probably cleaner than our homes. My boss is kind of a germ freak, we even use a sanitizer on the telephones between guests!

There is one place that freaks me out with germs - you guessed it Disney. Do you notice how I try not to touch handrails and stuff when I'm there. I've watched those little kids pick their noses and then grab ahold of the railings!:scared1:

The maids don't wash them, they just rince them in the sink and dry them with the used towels! Eww! One maid sprayed them with some sort of cleaning solution that said "Do Not Drink" right on the spray bottle!

DBF doesn't use the handrails either when we are at amunsment parks. I have to or I feel like I'm going to lose my balance. :rotfl:

Good Morning Hyenas!

I didn't do much packing last night, which means I need to do that after work today. I went to Nordstrom yesterday with my grandma and family friend. My grandma bought some shoes for the formal dinner on the cruise. I found a cool Puma brand messenger bag. It's the perfect size for my laptop and the best was that it was 50% off (they have an end of the year sale right now). They had so many boots on sale. Too bad I don't like boots, but they had tons.

I went to GAP to return a pair of pants and a hoodie. The items still had the tags on them and were never worn. The sales lady accused me of wearing them and WASHING them. I told her if they were washed it still wouldn't have the tags on them. :sad2: The manager told her the items were fine.

I need to do laundry when I get home and pack stuff. Hopefully it won't take long and I won't forget anything. I leave tomorrow morning at 9am! I'm gonna miss you guys!! :( :grouphug:

Good morning, hyenas!
We've got sun and "the bluest skies you've ever seen" here. :rotfl:

Happy Pre-Thanksgiving, everyone!

My mom is on her way up to toddler-sit while I attend DS3's preschool conference. (He is currently climbing me like a tree, so perhaps I should say she's "chandelier-guarding"?)

I am "Susan" today. I couldn't figure out why he kept calling me that, but DS7 clued me in on the walk to school. It seems that I am "Susan", Daddy is "Reed", DS3 is "Johnny" and DS7 is "The Thing". Bragging Rights to the first person who figures it out! :cool2:

I'm going to do some floor-clearing before my mom gets here; I swear shoes are everywhere, and I had no idea the boys had so many jackets! Of course they're too short to hang those up, but is that an excuse to throw them about the house?! (In case you were wondering, Grumpy, the answer to that is "NO!")

And lastly, if you're looking for a good chuckle, check out a CB thread by RickInNY; he's hilarious and talking about planning a holiday party for his employer. :thumbsup2

Ewwww....that's just gross! I know for a fact that we would fire a housekeeper that did that. We have a checklist that we compile for all of the maids, they are required to go down the checklist and clean exactly how we tell them and use the exact chemicals we tell them to use. Each housekeeper fills out a sheet on each room. Then we have a head housekeeper that trains all of them. The head housekeeper doesn't clean rooms, she basically walks around and makes sure that everyone is cleaning properly and then she is required to inspect each room before it is rented out again. We virtually never get complaints about our housekeeping. But unfortunately, if you don't set up checklists and have a head housekeeper inspecting that is the sort of thing that happens.

Good morning Alex. We are kind of overcast today. But yesterday was beautiful.

Boy, DH sure feels guilty about our fight last night. He's apologized last night and sent me an email apologizing this morning. He said he was just in a bad mood because he had to take the Japanese guys out last night. He told me I was the most independent, capable woman he knows, but that was no excuse for me to have to change my own headlight bulb on a freezing cold night. I'm thinking I could probably milk this for a really good Christmas present. I think it's at least worth 1 carat don't you?:rotfl:

Ok Alison, something is going on here. Jake and I had a flat tire going to school this morning a couple miles away from where dh was at his store. Well, I called his cell to tell him maybe thinking he would come and help change it and he didnt answer so I jumped out and changed the tire myself. I dont mind doing this but I would have loved to have help. I am sometimes not strong enough to get the lugnuts off luckily I could throw my weight on it and they moved.

So he calls back when I'm finished and leaves this message "You called me when Drew (his regional manager) was here but luckily he didnt hear my phone going off.(wth? they always call his cell???) I'll try to check back later I have to go now I'm BUSY" He was totally irritated on the message. GEESH. I told him what intersection I was at and he could have at least come and checked on me but nothing.

THEN he called me like 5 hours later to "check" back on me and I had just finished the 4 mile walk back home from Discount Tire just in time to get Morgan from school today. He's like Oh, ok so are you going to walk back up and get the car. UMMMM: NO butthead you are going to tell your boss your wife needs you to leave for a half an hour and pick us up to get the car. I'm NOT walking with 2 kids I had the stroller for Jake but Morgan would never make it. he works 14 hours today you would think he could manage a half an hour away.

I'm also upset because no one stopped to help. Now I totally know how to change a tire but I am slow at it. I have even stopped myself to help a woman with kids on the side of the road but NOTHING today. I called my brother and asked if he saw a woman with a small child on the side of the road would he stop. He said of course he would. I guess the men traveling Power Rd arent' that nice.

I think these are the Fantastic Four.

I think you should have called a friend, gotten a ride from them. Then went & picked up DH's car and told him to walk home!:rotfl: Geesh, we are all stressed out and busy but WTH!

A couple of years ago when we were at the mall there was a lady with a baby, toddler and grandma. They had a flat tire. DH & I stopped to help. She was crying because she couldn't get ahold of anyone in her family and they had been there for 2 hours and no one stopped to help. This was a Christmas time at the mall!

Well I guess you, Megain & I can start a Do It Yourself Dental & Auto Repair for Women business!

Wow, it's slow around here today! I guess everyone's getting ready for Thanksgiving!

Not me! I'm at work, but it's unbelievably slow. I just got back from lunch with our tax accountant. I've spent most of the day reading Black Friday ads online!:lmao:

I love this Mr. Bean episode!! :rotfl2:

It's not too crazy here at work too....at least now it's isn't. I was busy this morning. My customers decided it would be a nice pre-Thanksgiving gift to "bless" me with a punch of P.O.'s! :faint: I'm on my break right now.

We had a company lunch awhile ago at Hometown Buffet. The sales manager I was talking about before, has hired a new girl. She seems really nice and we talked to her at lunch. It's her birthday today too and her first day at work! She just turned 21 and said she's planning to hit Vegas with a family of 30! :scared1:

Her boss thought it would be funny to tell the waitresses at Hometown it was her birthday. She turned so red! They stuck a paper hat on ther had with the Hometown Bumble Bee on it and gave her a piece of cake from the dessert section and stuck a candle in it. We all sang happy birthday to her but she said she wanted to crawl under the table! :rotfl2: The receptionist asked her about her personal life (which I thought was kinda awkward) and she is so young and just broke off an engagement! The guy she was seeing sounds like a real creep! He would offer to get gas for her car and she thought he was just being nice. Then she found receipts in his wallet showing that he's been writing down her mileage in her car, distances of how many miles it is from her work to their apartment, etc. Then he's been searching her phone every day to see who she's calling! :sad2: I told her I'm glad she got out of that relationship because it sounds like he's a very controlling person. She said she broke off the engagement and she saw a whole different side of him. He even wanted her to drop everything and move to Colorado! Crazy!!

Gives a whole new meaning to stuffing doesn't it?:lmao:

I bought the Mr. Bean DVD collection. It's so funny!!! He loses his watch stuffing the turkey and then he spreads the turkey's legs and uses a flashlight to look for his watch. Cracked me up!! That and the Christmas episode where he's playing with the nativity set in the store. :rotfl2: :rotfl:

You still here Pix? Sorry I disappeared. Our cleaning staff showed up with boxes of our xmas decorations for the office so I had to show them where to set the boxes. Plus I had to have them take about 8 boxes of records to oru storage unit.
