Helloooooooooooooooo Pix! Sounds like you were busy at work today. What's going on?

A good snack is to inject an orange with vodka (OR RUM!!) and there you have it!! A screwdriver to go!!!

It would just be my luck that one of the kids would grab that orange and throw it in their lunchpail!

I dont know... I just use the ham bone when I have ham for dinner. Yum!!! The guys that work with dh are always especially thankful when we have it! But they are gross about such things, so I dont mind dh blowing them out of the building!

You really must try ham hocks. They make beans so much tastier than just ham bones. When they are done cooking I throw the outer fat away and pick the meat off the bone. They give it a salty/smokey flavor that's real good. Not much meat on the bones though so I usually have to add a little ham chunks. DH gets to walk around at work a lot, so he can always blame it on someone else!

Thats really neat, I think I will try that next time.. I do have a bag of beans sitting up there calling me. I know I have seen ham hocks at safeway, I will pick them up the next time I am in there.

I grew up on them, as did my dad. He calls it "po' folks' food". He grew up on an Indian reservation.

My grandma taught my mom how to make it, and she always makes a big batch of cornbread along with it. MMMmmmmmm!

no no no ya all have it wrong.. it's PINTO beans and salt pork- mmmmmm.

With a stack of frshly made warm tortillas and some carnitas.. ummm good stuff people.

There is nothing better on a cold day than beans & cornbread. I usually just throw the beans in the crock pot so they are ready when I get home. It's funny we used to eat stuff like that all the time, but were really skinny. Now we supposedly eat healthier, yet weigh more.

Good Gosh Almighty! How many grease rags can one man have? I have now washed and folded 2 huge loads of rags! I pre-washed them, washed them on heavy duty, then washed them again. They still smell like oil & gas! I should probably add some sort of degreaser to the laundry, but I don't want to use chemicals that will mess up the septic system.

I hear you on that!! I have to wash dhs work cloths separately then the rest of ours.. His stuff is BAD!! Its so funny, when we were first dating, I used to think he smelled manly and sexy after work... now i just makes me ill!

We watched all of about 2 minutes of it.. But dh wanted to watch South Park instead..

Oh, Mikalah has been sleeping REALLY well in her bed!! I cant believe how much I miss her sleeping with me. but she is finally sleeping through the night, and waking up really happy in the morning.
