mmm This sounds good, except change the cinnamon and cloves out for something more savory.
Reminded me of Pasties.
Loved getting those at a bakery when I went with my dad on business trips up to the Iron Range area in MN as a child. He sold big machinery parts to the taconite mining companies.
(history of mining in the area, pasties are hand held meat pies - perfect lunch or dinner when down in the mine)

page froze .. here's the recipe

I wish the ol' "Let's watch a movie" worked in our house. They are happy to watch as long as we are in the same room. {sigh}

 Good gracious!! You go on with your bad self!:thumbsup2

:rotfl:

CUTE!

hmm, My hubby would love if I wore that "around the house" ;)

So would DBF!

Okay, you inspired me to start dinner!:thumbsup2 We are having Chicken spaghetti!! I threw some crushed tomatoes in the CP put some chicken on top, seasoned it, put some fresh garlic on it, covered it with the rest of the tomatoes... Yum!:thumbsup2

Sounds good.

:lmao: :lmao: Nothing like a little show to go with dinner...;)

:rotfl2:

We've had similar conversations.

I thought it weird that my MIL thanked me for giving him a kidney, she said she couldn't do that for a husband.. WTH???!!
Granted she had some crummy husbands in the past, but if someone you know is suffering.. why wouldn't you step forward to help if you can??? :confused3

Statistics show that when women have partners with chronic illness, they tend to stay in the marriage.

On the other hand, when men's partners have chronic illness, they tend to leavethe marriage to file divorce. Citing too much stress, unable to cope with the demands.
That would surprise me, too. I would have no trouble giving a kidney (or whatever) for DH.

Interesting statistics! DH's grandfather stayed with his very ill wife for decades until she died, totally devoted to the end. I know DH would do the same if it were our situation.

The kids are clamoring for popcorn, so I'll be back in a few minutes. :)

Sorry Pixie.. couldn't resist!

oh, and DS14 decided for me.. "I want Sloppy Joe's"

umm, ok.

I didn't finish my lunch. I ate the chicken mc nuggets, 2 bites of the filet o' fish and got swamped with work. I'm not eating a lot since I've had horrible cramps all day! :headache:

At least Sloppy Joe's aren't hard to prep. I haven't eaten one since I was little.
I can take 'em or leave 'em these days, but they used to be my favorite meal when I was little. My mom would let us pick what we wanted for dinner on our birthdays, and mine was always Sloppy Joes! :rotfl:

:scared1: You stole my popcorn!! :rotfl2: Oh fine, I'll share

Alex brought home a flyer for Back to school night!!Now that sounds like it should be fun!!!:thumbsup2 He was all excited, and told me "you get to come to my school!!! All three of you!!" And the best part, according to him? We get free hot dogs!:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

My mom made them occasionally when we were little, but I haven't eaten it since then.

:lmao: :lmao: Alex gets to pick dinner every once in a while. He likes shrimp, and tater tots, and fresh steamed green beans! garlic shrimp... no fried shrimp for him!:lmao: The first time he had popcorn shrimp, he got all mad... said it wasnt real shrimp!:rotfl2: :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: When I was small I didn't want my parents to come to parents night and stuff. I assumed it was something bad and the teacher was going to tell them how bad I was or something. :scared1:

My school was really strict.....they had a sad face pouch on the wall with our names on it. If we did something wrong, we would have to pick a colored construction paper (based on what we did) and put it in our pouch. Then the teacher would give us a tally to bring home for our parents to sign. I had TONS of those and it was always for something stupid: talking, picking a leaf off one of the plants outside, blowing a whistle in 1st grade was my favorite! :rolleyes1
