Today i went to drop off some things to Goodwill. My neighbor saw me and asked if i could drop off a box
for her. In her box was a rice cooker and a food steamer. I asked her if anything wrong with them and she said
neither came in as handy as she thought.

Made me wonder if you have bought something for kitchen/or in home and 1. regret 2. on fence about 3. Love it
more than you thought you would.

For me

Regret...Roomba vacuum..Honestly for the care it takes easier for me to Hoover.

Unsure/on the fence....Instapot. Not as handy as i thought.

Love it....Amazon echo. Listen to my books/music/news/podcasts throughout the house.

I only use my instapot for stews. It takes a while for it to pressurize, so most things I can make faster on a burner. I also have a souv vide that I only use for steaks. But I wouldn't give away either because they both do a good job for what I need them for.

The stuff I use the least is for carving pumpkins. It's not like I can find pumpkins year round by me.

Mandoline Slicer. Not sure I would say I regret the purchase (it was fairly cheap) but I don't use it like i thought I would. Mainly because the largest guide is too thin for my purposes.

Between the three of us we use our rice cooker and air fryer several times per week. Don't own an insta pot.

I don't use my air fryer as much as i thought i would and it takes up way too much counter space

I have to agree with you on this one. But it was hubby who wanted it, not me. So far the only things I've made in it are home made fries, chicken wings, and frozen battered fish. It does take up too much counter space, and I don't have room in cabinets or cupboards for it.

Another thing that hubby wanted, not me. He wanted a good one, so I got him a good one. The very first time I used it, I nearly chopped part of a finger off. Bled so bad I thought I was going to have to go to the ER. It is now downstairs in it's box, and highly doubt it will see the light of day again!

I just renovated my 50 yr old kitchen. Bought a small air fryer love it. I use my instapot daily. Next on our list is Keurig and kitchen aid mixer all in aqua blue. Looks stunning with gray cabinets and granite counter tops.

May I ask the kind of things you are cooking in your instapot? Some things i have
fixed have been just as easy with stove/oven or tasted better. I may be using it
wrong.

We were given as gifts an airfyer and an instapot. The airfryer is the basket type. It does make some things very well but it's huge on the outside and not very big cooking space. In an instapot I did make a pork tenderloin from frozen to done is about 30 mins, but again, I have no issues doing things the "old fashion ways". My sister is thrilled with hers (airfryer is oven type) and uses her almost every single day.

The thing that drives me crazy about airfryer recipes are something like put in oven at 350, cook for 5 mins, flip, cook for 10 mins, flip , cook at 400 for 5 min. Then keep the meat warm while you cook the potatoes for 20 mins, flipping 3 times. I'd rather just throw the items in the oven for 60 mins and walk away. If I needed to run home from a job and have to leave in under an hour to go to band, basketball, youth whatever, I'll probably be thrilled with it.

I'm not crazy about my Kitchenaid. I kind of regret buying it. I love having a stand mixer and I use it frequently, but Kitchaids are so expensive and they come with very few cheaply made attachments for the price. It's a money pit, you have to buy a bunch of proprietary, overpriced attachments to get your money's worth out of the thing!

I miss my old Sunbeam stand mixer that I bought myself as a wedding present in 2000. I stored it in a family member's basement for a year when I separated from my husband and I think it grew some kind of mold inside the motor, I tried everything to clean it and I couldn't get the musty basement smell out of it. Looking back, I should have had it serviced instead of replacing it with the Kitchenaid. I had some Kohl's cash and a giftcard and they were running a sale so I got the Kitchenaid cheap but I still miss my Sunbeam.

*Sigh I agree with this. I had to make a double batch of chicken rice. So I used my oven
and instant pot. One batch i used my oven. The other instant pot. By the time instant pot
built to pressure and cooked the food. The oven was done. The only thing is i don't like turning
my oven on during sweltering summer heat. This is where instapot shines and with frozen things.

*With airfryer my complaint is not enough space inside for a family of 4/5 and i have a bigger one.

I got a Cuisinart lil pro mini food processor at a garage sale once. It is the best thing but
they don't sell it any more. My big bulky food processor sits on shelf in linen closet. I shudder
when i think of the money i spent on it.

I use my robot vacuum all the time now that I'm working from home. It's not perfect but with three cats it help keep up with the things. I start it in the morning and let it run through the kitchen, dining and foyer areas and it goes back to the docking station when it needs to be recharged. I don't like it as much in the family room where we have a rug I'll use the regular vacuum on that.

We got an Opal ice maker which I was worried about from reviews but ours has been awesome. We love it Winter, spring, summer and fall.
The air fryer was given away after a year or so.

:scared: Those things can be so dangerous...I use mine quite a bit but I always use the guide and wear an oven mitt on that hand. I'm so paranoid, I can't even watch when chefs on the cooking competition shows use a mandolin with their bare hands. :faint:

I regret buying a huge, high-end Cusinart slow cooker. I'm not even sure why I wanted it; I'd cooked for 25 years without one. I guess I was excited about the idea of coming home after work to a warm, waiting meal but we just don't like the food that comes out of it. No matter what recipe I try, it all ends up tasting the same - a taste we've come to describe as "crock-potty".
