I have a gallon of Apple Cider (pasturized) still in my Fridge from Thanksgiving that I never used. It's unopened. I don't necessarily know if it would be good to drink...but could you still cook with it? Thinking of making a chicken recipe, but don't want to take a chance if it's bad...

:confused3 If it is unopened why would it not be okay to drink?

Does it have an expiration date? What is the difference if it is in your fridge or sitting in the store? I wouldn't hesitate to use it anyway you like. :)

open it and sniff it

probably worst case, apple cider might turn vinegary (that most likely wouldn't even be dangerous, just gross -- though maybe tasty on a salad :lmao: )

How did you have room in your fridge for a gallon bottle of cider through out the holidays?:confused3 :confused3 :confused3

;)

I can tell you that if someone's DH leaves cider in the dining room and it happens to spill that it almost immediately smells like alcohol when one goes to clean it up :sad2:

We have a garage fridge. Actually, had 2 gallons. But drank one. The other one never got used and we just kinda forgot about it. It has a "sell by" date of Nov. 25...which is why I was so nervous....but again never opened.:confused3

I think it would be fine, but I wouldn't get nervous about an $8 gal of cider. If you're worrried, pitch it.

worst case scenario...you have cider vinegar.
