Unofficial Guide - Free Resort Maps - Your Opinion, Please

LOOKS GREAT!!! thank you for all your hard work... it certainly does make our vacations more pleasant :)

just a thought... on the pop century map i did not see building numbers... and some of the maps that i found online have building letters which are not used (apparently they originally lettered them and then changed over to numbers) and it truly confuses a cm when you call to make a request! LOL! anyway... building numbers and bus stops... all a girl could ask for! LOL!

Hi Micca,

That's a good idea! As it's beyond my skills, let me see what our artists can do.

Sincerely,

Len

Very, Very handy! I think it is a great addition!

Len, the maps are great.

Any chance of including maps that show all resorts & parks and the distances between each eg walking, transport modes etc. I would love some guide on travelling times and distances.

It would be helpful for those who have not been to WDW before - like myself.

Really nice maps. The only thing I would like, and I don't think I've ever seen it on any Disney map, is some idea of the scale of the individual resorts.

Maybe expressed in terms of 1 inch is x number of feet. Or how long it will take the average person, laden with souvenir bags, to crawl from Melody Hall to Broadway in ASMu after a really long day at the parks.

The thing that I find about maps is that they never manage to convey just how huuuuge the resorts are... I don't even know if it's possible.

But those are really good maps.

Hi cjeong and bigtinkfun,

Distances....yes! A great idea! I'll ask our cartographer (yes, we have an on-staff cartographer - you should see his office) what he can do.

Thanks very much! Great idea!

Len

The maps look great and I love the book. It must be lots of fun to write about Disney. :)

Wow -- these are great!

A couple more little notes -- the room drawing for AKL looks like the sink area in the bathroom is walled in -- if I remember correctly, the wall to the entry way is open to the sinks. Also, in Port Orleans AB, the sinks are two pedestals without a countertop. It would be helpful to have the building numbers here, too.

The Contemporary main building looks too detached from the wings. Maybe it's me, but the garden wings look more attached to the parking lot -- maybe it's just my perspective. Does the pool look funky, too?

I think it would also be nice to show the location of the formal dining locations. Those who hop restaurants need to know where to go.

Please tell Bob it was an honor to see him on the Travel Channel show (we're unworthy, we're unworthy!)

I was just looking at the 2004 tonite to see which savannah was being recommended to request for AKL, it was not labeled. On this one it is, so that's good, and the info is nicer. Now I know which ones are the Arusha and Uzima!!!

Looks good Len, even the POR room lay-outs. Not a daybed to be seen.;) Thanks for the hard work.

Here's a minor detail thing...
On the BWV map, the DVC sales center is going away (maybe gone already?) and will be at SSR.

Looks great!

I would add under amenities for Swan/Dolphin the Heavenly Beds & room service.
Also, amenities for Coronado - In Room Coffee Makers & I do believe there is a fitness center.
Also, I noticed that you didn't list amenities at all for Yacht & Beach - altho the map is already pretty full on that one....

The maps look great. Could you maybe add one of Shades of Green? I noticed that you have it listed as one of the resorts on your Online Planner (Also Great!!!). For those that frequent SoG or are looking to book there, it would be a big help.

If you need a copy of one to use as a guide, I do have one.

Yes, please do! I would love to see a map of shades of green.

Thanks Maridw. Yes, if you have a map and a scanner, can you scan it in for me? I'll see what our folks can come up with.

Thanks also for using the Trip Planner. If there's anything else you'd like to see added, please let me know.

Sincerely,

Len

I bet you wished you'd never asked for our opinions Len! Lol:hyper:
Whatever you give us we always want more!
It's great that we're being asked..not seen others do that before.
Thanks Len you're a star :flower1:

They are great! Two thumbs up!

*a note: I've never seen a Polynesian bathroom as it is in your layout. The sinks are double and on the wall opposite the tub, but I know the rooms vary. It just seemed odd to put that layout in the book.*

Wow! I just read over everyone's opinions. You get a lot of requests and advice, eh? That's a tough job! How do you do it so well??!

Len,
It all looks so good.
I just think you need another person to PERSONLY check out ALL the rooms to make sure they are correct.
..............................................................................................................................Ahhh:( .......................................................................

ILL DO IT....................................................................
I know.....I know, It will be a hard job, but Ill make the ultimate sacrifice.............. ONLY for you Len!

Just tell me when you want to send me. Ill check out every one of the resorts for you.
Ill even spend multiple days at each resort if you need me to.

The maps are great!

Not really about the maps but about the online trip planner... I'd like to see a trip summary page to print. With my own feeble planning spreadsheet, I have one page that gives a summary of the whole trip and I carry it with me every day.

If I want to remind myself of what park we are going to tomorrow or when our Hoop Dee Doo PS is, I can look at this summary any time. It doesn't have to have all of the tiny details but at least the park planned for each day, the restaurants we will be visiting and other special plans.

Mine for an 8 day trip fits on a 8.5 X 11 sheet very nicely.

Thanks!
