I am currently planning a trip to WDW, and of course, consulted my OG when making plans.

I picked the parks, made my dining ressies, and have now discovered that the crowd level calendar is different online than the version in the 2006 book.

Did anyone else notice this for their trip?

We are going in March, 2007 and I will buy the new version around Christmas or whenever it comes out. I will mostly go by the book but for crowd information I would defintely go with the online info since it is most likely more up to date.

IMO, the Unofficial Guide is unreliable. One representative for it on the radio was telling incorrect statements about fastpasses. The Disboards are a much better information source.

Ahhhh.
Now comes the dilemma.

Do you RE-make everything based on the "NEW and ACCURATE" info?

Or WAIT and see if "NEWER and ACCURATE-ER-ER" info comes out again?

I treat all of this "crowd prognostication" the way I treat the WEATHER REPORTS...

Its interesting to discuss, but what actually HAPPENS may or may not have any RESEMBLENCE to the "forecast".

That doesn't mean that its always WRONG...
It just means that its always "subject to change without notice or explaination" (or REFUND). :goodvibes

The crowd levels aren't really accurate in my opinion, though I love everything else about the UG. The only half way decent way to avoid crowds is to go to a park the day AFTER they just had EMH. If you go during a slow time of year, that isn't even necessary

The crowd level index in the UG is very inaccurate. They had GREATLY underestimated the crowd levels for the week we were there.

I think it's really hard for the authors of the UG to predict crowd levels on various days as far ahead of time as they have to when the book goes into print. The website can be updated a lot more frequently, which is why I'd trust it over the book for that information. In the 2006 UG, for instance, is a Touring Plan for AK assuming EE is open, but then on the website, there's a different Touring Plan with EE open based on the reality of that ride and traffic patterns at the park. I think UG is generally pretty good, but anything in print is somewhat out of date by the time you have it at your house.

When are you going on your trip? If you have time I would suggest getting TGM! Click the above link. No I do not get paid for advertising! :rotfl:

I just got back from a 7 day trip and I used TGM's info on what parks for what days. And let me tell you, he was so right. On the days he said avoid a certain park, we did and the bus lines for that park were very long. Our lines were very short! We waited no longer than 20-minutes for any ride. It was perfect.

So if you have time before your trip, get TGM. It is so worth the money!
