Unlocked iPhone on EBay?

my daughter is looking for an unlocked iPhone for her DD, I know I have seen posts from people here who bought on eBay and had success but was awhile ago.

Any suggestions, advice would be much appreciated. looking for iPhone 6 or 7 is OK I think

I have had my iphone SE since Oct 2016. Bought off eBay as a used item but was in perfect condition. I made sure to buy an unlocked phone and then I took it to Verizon to have them put it on their network. I'm ready to upgrade my phone here in the next 6 mos and will definitely be doing the same thing. Maybe iPhone 7 this time though

Try swappa. I did buy one off eBay from a very reputable seller and it was fine.

We've bought two iphones off of Ebay. Would do it again in a heartbeat. Make sure that the phone is unlocked to the carrier you want to use it on, and that it has a clean ESN. Even though this isn't fool proof, a clean ESN generally means that the phone isn't under contract, or reported as lost or stolen. And as above poster mentioned, buy from a reputable seller. Preferably a power seller. Make sure you read their feedback, and the auction listing carefully.

Be careful of what you buy....and ask questions.
If the phone had the screen replaced or other damage and this was seller refurbished Apple will NEVER repair the phone for any fee. -- one indication of a seller to stay away from is home button does not recognize finger print-- If having a phone Apple will not support make sure you are buying from a dealer with a good reputation and it will not be a lower priced one or bottom grade from those dealers... In other words the people selling the phones for less than others.. you will get exactly what you pay for. This does not mean it is a bad deal it just means don't expect a great phone for a low price and make sure you have repair places that will service an Iphone that is not an authorized apple repair shop as above they will not touch the phone if all past work has not been performed by Apple or an authorized Apple repair center. If you decide in an 8 be aware that if the phone is not or has not been serviced by an authorized Apple repair shop or Apple and you upgrade to latest the IOS the brightness will not work making the screen very difficult to see making the phone wothless. Thank Apple for closing the door on reasonably priced resales in the years to come.
