The ”unlock the door” feature was on our app as well for our stay last May. It didn’t work, alas! With magic bands operative now, though, I’m hoping they will have worked out all the kinks.

Off the Hook popped up on last Wednesday when I was there, but there was never any available pickups times. We did eat there a couple of times sit down, never had an issue with getting a table right away. Great food.

We almost exclusively used our phone to unlock the room door during our September stay. (The Android Aulani app though.) Super convenient.

We've been using our magic bands this week. It's the easiest option they have. The phone is probably easy as well....but I'd it's anything like WDW...who knows if it will work.

It sounds like it's not completely safe, if someone can break into your door with their phone?

I would guess it's safer than a normal key....which you can lose much easier. Also, I found the Aulani app logged me out several times....so I had to login via biometrics on my phone to get back into the app to get to the door lock screen. That means the person would also need your Disney login.

Many hotels now ise this feature in their app and I haven't heard of any instances where someone gained entry to another person's room by hacking this feature. Not saying it hasn't happened ..but guessing it's extremely rare.

All that said I still use all locks available in every hotel room I stay in.
