Can you buy UPH without buying a package? Where would you do this? Now, I know that the UPH's are not very "budget" minded, but I hate being at WDW and not going to a park. We will be there for five nights and I could get the 5 day Park Hoppers (it seems like Paramount has the best deal), but that means we won't be able to go to the parks on arrival or departure day. I guess I could live with it if the 5 day PHP is a lot cheaper than the UPH. Anyone know? Also, as you can see, my trip is VERY far away Can I buy tickets now to assure a good price or do they have to be purchased closure to my trip? THanks!!

You can purchase UMP as an onsite resort guest.

You can purchase UPHs without purchasing a package as long as you are stay at a Disney resort. They can be purchased in advance from 1-407-W-DISNEY. You will get a little discount if you do. A 6-night UPH will cost you $313 (adult) in advance or $335 (adult) at check-in.

On the other hand, a 5-day PHP from Paramount will cost you $239 (adult) plus any delivery charges. Only you can decide whether the additional cost of the UPH is worth it.

And just to give you something else to ponder, an AP goes for $369 (adult). It won't get you into the water parks, PI or DQ but if you plan to visit WDW again in less than a year, it may be a more economical way to go.

Many people like to purchase their passes in advance to beat any price increases and to spread the cost out over a period of time. There's also the content feeling you get when you've got Park Hoppers safely stashed away because you know that you will be going to Disney someday.

Yes!! That is exactly the feeling! I can't wait until Jan. 11 when I can rent points for my Dec. trip and the ressies are made. And to have the tickets in your hand feels great! I guess the five day PHP will be the way to go - we will save almost $300 and that is just for the 4 adults, we also have two children. I will still go on arrival day - Epcot and Illuminations is a first day tradition! I'll just have to figure out something to do on departure day - take in the resort - swim until checkout, then a nice luch maybe, and try not to be too grouchy that we can't be at the park.

I would love to get an annual pass - but it was a struggle to get DH to agree to the 2004 trip and we haven't been since Dec. 2002!! So it looks like every two years for us

From reading trip reports here, I have learned that you can still see Illuminations without going to the park itself. There are many hotels you can view from. Just a thought since it is a tradition.

I joined HW savings club for the trial period and the 5 day PHP is currently $236.76 adult $188.84 child 6 day is 265.51 / 212.80
There is no shipping. Best part is they never expire unlike the UPH so if you end up doing a water park instead of a regular park you might have days left for another trip. Even the 7 day is less that the uph but I got mine from paramount because even with the shipping the breakfast vouchers more that covered the cost. Currently the breakfast vouchers have a 5/04 expiration date so if you go with that don't order until the new ones come out.

LOL, I say the same thing!!!! Mary has a lot of info on her site and it can be easily missed. www.wdwig.com also has a lot of information, as does this site. Keeps you busy.
