Pardon me if this has been posted, but I was unable to find it by searching.

We will be in Orlando for a 4 day trip from Oct 29th - Nov 3. We plan on hitting two Disney parks on the 30th and 31st and the Universal parks Nov 1st and 2nd. Normally we stay on site to get the Unlimited Express Pass but we won the Airfare and Hotel so are offsite so will be purchasing the Unlimited Express Pass.

So here's the question. October 23rd is the only non-peak day around our travel dates and it is valid for 14 days from October 23rd - November 5th. So our dates we plan on using the tickets are within the time frame specified.

A call to guest services stated that you have to use the first day on the date selected. However, if you read the restrictions it never mentions the requirement to use on the date selected.

Here are the two excepts from the Unlimited Express Ticket Restrictions:

The 2-Day Park to Park with Unlimited Express Ticket entitles one (1) guest admission and unlimited Universal ExpressSM Access* to BOTH Universal Studios Florida® AND Islands of Adventure® on the same day for the duration of the base ticket. Ticket is valid for any two (2) calendar days during a fourteen (14) consecutive calendar day period which includes the first day any portion of the ticket is used. This ticket also includes fourteen (14) consecutive calendar days of admission to the paid entertainment venues of Universal CityWalk® which commences and includes the first day any portion of the ticket is used.

*This 2-Day Park to Park with Unlimited Express Ticket allows one (1) guest to bypass the regular lines an unlimited amount of times by providing Express Access to most attractions at both Universal Studios Florida AND Universal's Islands of Adventure theme parks for any two (2) calendar days during a fourteen (14) consecutive calendar day period which includes the first day any portion of the ticket is used. Valid at participating attractions only.

Two days non-peak park to park with Unlimited Express is $479.98 while the Standard rate is $559.98, a savings of $80 which is about what we would spend for dining in the park for the two of us for two days.

So anybody out there selected their Unlimited Express Pass Date and their first day of use was several days later? :confused3:confused3

:offtopic::crazy2:And don't even get me started on how much tickets are now days. Last trip that wasn't with a school trip for which we had to pay; tickets were only $99pp for a whole week of park to park and the onsite hotels were giving 2 nights free with 3 paid nights during July.

I really don't think you would need to spend the money for unlimited Express access. This is not a very busy season and lines should be fairly short. You would be better off waiting until you arrive to see what the lines are like before spending that kind of money.

Well checked online and cost of staying one night at onsite hotel is only $40 more and we gain convenience of having a room close by to change out of wet clothing and can enjoy the pool plus gain Unlimited Express Pass for our two days Plus 1 hour ealy admission to the Wizzarding World of Harry Potter pixiedust:.

Probably don't need Unlimited Express Pass at this time of year, however it is during Halloween Horror Nights so not sure how that affects crowd levels during the day! Since we are there just 2 days we didn't want to waste anytime in lines and now we have the freedom to go back to the room on day 1 to enjoy the pool.

HHN doesn't affect crowds during the day at IOA...only late afternoons at the Studios.

I think you are wise opting to stay onsite.

I like the way you think. :)

Sorry to hijack, but I freaked out after reading the OP, and called GS. We are going to IOA/US on 12/21 and 22. Getting the "PTP VIP" (that's how it shows up on the email confirmation). Not staying on site, as we are DVC members and will be at AKV 12/16-26.

I picked 12/11 as our "start date", because it was the last day for the lowest rate, and our dates are within the two-week window. We are going to IOA/US on Sat/Sun, because I figure we will have the pass there so the crowd size won't matter (versus the craziness at WDW). We are also going to Sea World on Fri with the $50 weekday tix and Quick Queue.

Anyway, when I called GS, the woman told me exactly what it says on the website, which is that we can use them whenever we want during the window. If you want to wait til the last two days, it's okay.

This is from the website when you pick your dates:
PARK-TO-PARK + UNLIMITED EXPRESS
Your tickets will be valid on any 2 days of your choice between December 11 - December 24, 2013.2 DAYS, VALID BETWEEN DEC 11 - 24

Very relieved.

That's good to hear. I figured we would have been OK choosing the lower rate since our days were withing the 14 day window based on the Restrictions. But since cost wasn't that much more to stay onsite for one night, now we actually have a tangible benefit for the extra dollars :) Glad you got a straight answer from GS as they kept telling me you have to use it the first day you select but that wasn't what the website said. Thanks for the info.

Yeah, perhaps the person you spoke to was thinking about the one-day pass, which you obviously need to choose the exact date to use?

Have fun! Which resort did you choose? We actually were thinking about moving to Hard Rock on the 26th and spending New Year's there, but we decided to go to St. Pete instead with my friend and her family (they live in Tampa).

We booked a King room at Royal Pacific. Had the best rate stayed at Hard Rock last time so looking forward to seeing another of the resorts.
