I am taking my daughter age 10 to WDW in 2 weeks ( hurrah) and wondered if I should include a day at Universal Studios ?

She doesn't like rides so it would be the Studios we would visit.

As she watches Nickelodeon on the TV every day she is familiar with the shows and the characters in them.

Only problem is she thinks that she'll see one of "her " shows being taped. She said " if its Men in Black I don't want to go ".

We are going to be a bit low on spare time with all the things we have planned ie WDW, Seaworld and a 3 day Disney Cruise so I suppose my question is.................do you think we should do it ?? I'd hate to go and for her to be disappointed when it doesn't turn out as she expected.

Any thoughts will be gratefully received.

If you have the time do it! Any 10 year old that watches Nick daily would love the character intervention alone. Plenty to do and see w/o riding rides although there are a few you shouldnt miss and are tame.

To get a better feel and see if she would like to visit. Show her www.universalorlando.com and have her look around at what she could expect and decide from there.

Definitely go if you have time. You will have an awesome time.

I don't think you will see anything taped.....at least not MIB.

I definetly suggest it. She would love it, I'm sure. She definetly will not see an MIB taping. I don't know the filming schedule but I imagine the only things that would (and could) be filmed at the park are Commercials and Park Specials. Slime Time Live was the only show being taped on an almost regularly basis but the show has been discontinued. I've seen Jimmy Neutron hanging around the side of the Universal Studios Store, Shrek around the Lucy Tribute, and Shaggy/Scooby around the side of the Neutron Building next to the empty lot. The toon trolley starts in Hollywood and goes through Production Central. But she'll still enjoy the rides and the Nicktoon Characters! Hope you have fun! :D

Absolutely!!! Shrek 4-D, MIB, E.T., Spiderman etc. are all very entertaining and are equal if not better than many Disney attractions.

To my surprise I found the employees at Universal/Islands of Adventure to be more friendly and interested in how my day was going.

US/IOA is a must do!!!!

I think she would really like it the shows and attractions are great :jester:

yes, definately, for all of the reasons you just stated. US is a nice change from WDW. Even though I never ride the roller coasters I really enjoyed touring US and found lots to see and do. With the addition of Shrek 4D and Jimmy Neutron (seats in the front row do not move) this park is a definate winner.

Your daughter may like the Extreme Ghostbusters Show (not at all scary, despite what many people think it would be. It's really funny and a favorite of many kids...and teenagers...and women in general...for more info you can PM me), Animal Planet Live Show, as well as the others suggested above.

Fly Fly-

I was wondering how long it would take you to suggest the GB show.....:p ;)

Spidey - I was seeing how long I could handle not suggesting it, myself. I saw this thread a while ago and got out of it before I got the urge to say "Ghostbusters Show!!!" but, as you can see, I couldn't last long! :p :p

I'm serious too!!

OMG LOL This thread was only created YESTERDAY!!!  Feels like a lot longer ago than that!

Man, look what holding back GB suggestions does to me!
