So, I was wondering if there was anyone in University that visits the Teen Board and could tell me a little bit about what to expect? I won't be staying in residence, i'll be living with my parents so that eliminates the partying (i hate parties anyways). But is it stressful? Hard? Fun?

Its pretty much what you have described. Hard, stressful, but so so fun! It's definitely a couple steps above highschool. Alot more critical thinking and more concepts to understand (especially in science and math classes). I'm sure you already know that.

I don't love living in the dorms because I like my space, but I think that every college student needs to experience it. And it isn't all partying either. Sure they are around, but at my school we have honor's dorms where its pretty much quiet because that is where the serious students live. There are dorms known for partying though! I live in an honor dorm.

I live at home too.

It's an extension of high school. It's harder and a lot more reading. It also is stressful but I think school in general is stressful. Also, depending on the size of the college you are going to it is more diverse. My high school was mostly white and middle class. There were about 2,000 kids. My college has a wide array of people of many ethnicities and beliefs. 36,000 people go to my university.

I've also found people are more accepting in college and not so quick to judge like they are in high school, where everything you wear is critiqued.

I was scared my first day but I got the hang of it. It's different than high school but good.

Thank you both for your responses. I certainly dont expect that it will be a free ride. I'm excited but scared all the same lol. It's just cheaper to not stay in a dorm since I only live 10 minutes away from the university.
