The last time I was on this ride was approx. 1990. Since then I've avoided it because of the extremely LONG and boring movie that came before actually seeing the dinos. Did Ellen make it any better? I have 2 small kids and if they had to sit through that horrible movie, we might all "lose it". Should we bother or should we just enjoy :scared1: the dinos on "Dinosaur" at AK?

Any other pre-movies that are unbearable? I know the movie before "Honey I Shrunk the Audience" gets old, but it is cute. I recall gestapo employees yelling at people who were sitting (me included). If that happens again, I'm sure my 3 yo will  or turn pirate: on them.

And I know enough to avoid the Canadian movie.

We just saw Ellen's Energy Adventure on May 16.
It's one of my DS9's favorites.
He specifically asked for it this past trip.

It's great to go on when it's hot and the afternoon is seeming long. A sweet treat can help through the long parts (and stash a sippy cup in your bag just in case), but it is for the most part, very well done. Skip the preshow if you want, but the AC is blissful and it becomes an even better ride on a hot day!

We pretty much skip Universe of Energy on most trips. Ellen is okay, but it is still a very long movie and once you've seen, its enough if you ask me. I wish there were a way to bypass that part and just get on the ride.

We also skip the movie in Norway and Canada-I have 2 teens and they were bored beyond comprehension. My 2 year old would jab his little eyes out or make me want to jab my own out if I tried to make him sit through those.

Well... I like it.

It really is a better way for most kids to get their dino kick. Dinoasur is SCARY and very rough for most 3 & 5 year olds.

My now 5 yo was 3 last trip and went on DINOSAUR (her father's insistence!) and was scared during the ride but not traumatized. Now I think she'll be okay. My 3 yo just wants to see the dinos ASAP and is fearless so I think he'll love it.

We did Ellen's Energy Adventure in May 2006 but skipped it in Feb 2007 because it was SO LOUD!!! DS2 was really scared because of how loud it was - he had his hands over his ears and was crying. There was the part about the big bang and then he was done!:sad2:

My 10 yr old loves this ride, we had to ride it twice at Thanksgiving, but said no on the May trip(DH had enough).

Will probably ride it again on the next trip.
