HRRR badly broken?

So they are sticking by their claims that it has nothing to do with what Maurer Sohne said about the failure of the bars.. hmm. :rolleyes1

Could've been worse, if more issues the ride would pull a Final Destination 3.

People would probably actually think it's part of HHN. And with my luck, it would be my Final Destination. DW would say, "he lived for the coasters and died on the coasters.":lmao:

My bet is on at least the 2-3 month time frame. The lawyers at Universal Studios would have to be insane to risk a potential accident based on the wording of the technical service report which was issued. Universal would not have a leg to stand on in court if an incident were to occur.

Even if Universal were to run the coaster before the fix, I'm not sure I would particularly want to be on it.

The coupling between cars is “not fatigue endurable as such, Maruer will be redesigning the parts and offering up the fix in approximately 2-3 months. Any operation of the Sky Loop or X-Car Coaster with tandem train must be immediately and strictly stopped until the examination has been evaluated! If you find any cracks (no matter what size or type) on the checked locations or any other irregularities, the system must be shut down immediately in order to prevent serious accidents prosing a danger to health and life of persons.”

While it could be something else such as routine maintinence, judging by the timing of all this and Universals general lack of information to anyone outside of the inner circles, I'm thinking it's highly unlikely. Looks like it probably won't be up and running until around Christmas. Bummer. It's been recommended a few times over now by people I know. I was looking forward to it. =(

This is a good point. The "scheduled routine maintenence" bit can only go on for so long before people start really pressing them for answers, especially if it was scheduled to be running during HHN. They are going to have to come clean sooner or later, or at least come up with another excuse if the x-car issue is the real problem here.

This is exactly my take on it. If the ride came up tom, Id still stay away for several months. Just to be safe.
For the life of me, I cant understand why Universal wont come out and say, this is what happened. This is what we are doing. It would go a long way to repairing the already damaged image of the coaster, from all of the delays it took. Plus it would make people feel safer to know that they found a problem and the problem is being addressed.

They will have to say something sooner or later. 3 months is an exorbitant amount of time for "routine maintenance"

Im not holding my breath on it. From the way the origianl park opening was handled, to how the WWOHP was handled to this, I doubt well see an explanation on exactly what the issue is.

Why do we have several threads going of exactly the same thing?

I don't understand why they won't fully explain what is wrong. If it is only something routine, they should be able to give an approximate date to re-open. This seems unlikely.

Nobody likes to be lied to. They do employ PR people right??

I am so bummed. I did not get to ride in the summer and I was planning to ride at Christmas. Maybe it will be fixed. :headache:

They have said that nothing is wrong and they are doing annual maintenance. If that is true, then it could just be day to day.

My grandmother mentioned it to me yesterday, and my dad called a little while ago from work, asking about it. He said that USF has a 2nd coaster down due to restraint issues. He aslo said they mentioned HRRR being down already,do its not that one.
Other then FJ which got bigger seats, anyone else hear anything. Was on one of the local new channels in the Orl area.

Nope. Nobody has said anything about any other coasters on this or other USF forums.

Thank goodness I thought to check out the Boards tonight in preparation for our trip there tomorrow or we never would have known. :confused3

Honestly, I am a bit p.o.'ed ....we bought the 2 day PtP (on the suggestion of their website) because DS specifically wanted to do this coaster this week and I HAVE to go to WWOHP (the rest are WDW days).

Grrrrr......:headache: I could have saved some $$ and just done IOA. :sad2:

Hope it opens back up soon. The ride's a blast and it's a must-do for us now on each trip.

The optimist in me hopes that is true. We weren`t lucky enough to ride last year.
