HRRR badly broken?

We were there from September 15th through the 20th. It was down the whole time, much to my dismay. I had no warning about it and was not pleased. Oh well. Our vacation was still great.

Thank goodness I thought to check out the Boards tonight in preparation for our trip there tomorrow or we never would have known. :confused3

Honestly, I am a bit p.o.'ed ....we bought the 2 day PtP (on the suggestion of their website) because DS specifically wanted to do this coaster this week and I HAVE to go to WWOHP (the rest are WDW days).

Grrrrr......:headache: I could have saved some $$ and just done IOA. :sad2:

No need to be po'd. You can take your tickets to Guest Services and have them changed. Just tell them your reason.

I hear it's closed indefinitely,Universal just keeps mentioning that since the ride is already offline they are just going forth with their annual maintenance.Maintenance is one thing but if this thing is going to be closed until 2011 they just need to come out and say what's wrong and how it's going to get fixed to make sure it's safe and stop talking about maintenance.

For those really interested in the possible "flaws" in the ride check out the comments by Rideman on this thread on Coasterbuzz:

His name is David Althoff and he knows as much about rides as any lay person around. Be prepared for technical jargon - but to me the most interesting point he makes is that it basically HAD to have been Universal that discovered the "problem" in the first place - NOT the manufacturer, as the bulletin would suggest to most.

My daughter and I rode it on 9/13 -- my husband and son expected to go on it either 9/14 or 9/15...only to find it down for "maintenance". We saw them running the cars early morning on 9/15 so we were hoping it would run that day, but nope.

Glad we got on it -- it was great. Guess my boys will have to wait til the next trip!

We were there all day on 9/19 and I didn't see a single car running. :sad1:

This is such a bummer. I hope it's up and running soon. My bff and I will be visiting in a couple of weeks and I was really looking forward to riding it. :sad2:

Screamscape says there were empty trains cycling late Thursday after the park closed.

We'll be there next week and I won't ride it even if it is up and running. I don't think the ride is worth the risk of being stuck somewhere on it!

Getting stuck on a ride could happen at any time on any ride for any reason. The ride could have just had a 100% perfect inspection and break down not 2 days later. I've actually seen that one happen. *shrug* If it's up when I go in a couple weeks, I'm game for it. Dunno when I'll get another shot at it.

We were there this past Monday - Friday. It was not open at all. My nephew heard someone say that it would be open next week, but that is just hearsay.

We did see it going with empty cars one of the evenings.

I think it is a disappointing ride. Didn't really care for it and I usually love roller coasters. Hulk is so much better.

I was lucky to get a a few ride's on HRRR between 18th Aug - 1st Sep. Hope it is up and running again soon.

Any new news? I will be at Universal on Oct. 7th. Really hoping it will be up and running by then.
