Universal's new reserve your ride time (at a cost)

me neither

but it paves the way as to how parks will be toured in the years to come.

With Disney's FP slowly turning into nextgen, RFID technology tested at AoA, and so on, let's say that within the next 5 years you'll probably have to pay for park entry, and then for rides themselves or be stuck miserably with the rest of the "lower class"

Of course, whenever a change occurs, people don't like it, that's a rule of thumb. But this one's bothering me. because once it's been test driven in UNI, no doubt Disney will tweak it at their own advantadge.

rant over :)

We used FOLP at IoA but only because we stayed at a Universal Hotel. I doubt we would pay OOP for anything extra, IoA just isn't as busy as Disney.I can only remember WWOHP, Spiderman and The Hulk that were really busy, all the other rides were manageable, and some of the rides the Express Pass line wasn't even working and we had to queue:confused3
I think they've got their work cut out convincing people it will enhance their experience enough for them to part with even more money.

We've vistied IOA and US now every year and have never paid for the Express Passes.

However this year we are visting August and I'am slightly concerned as to how long the queues are going to be for the rides having enjoyed relaxing Octobers in the past

I'm gearing to visit towards the end of August so lets hope they arent so bad, if so then I think I may end up paying for one of these options :worried:

Annette :)

have to pay for fast passes at alton towers in the uk !! its ridculous when you are paying so much entry , the only way i would agree with paying for fast passes is if they totally lower the park entrance fee

seems like a stupid idea to me and will waste a lot of time working out when you want to book a ride time.

Hi Annette, try not to worry, we've been in August twice and haven't found the queues too bad (with the exception of Harry Potter!!). We've never had to pay for an express pass. :thumbsup2

I definately won't be buying an express pass.

I'm liking your response Laura. :flower3:

Fingers crossed that all the US kids are back in school for when we visit :)

It says up to 6 guests can use one bot to make reservations. Even if you go for the (still cheap) most expensive option of $49.99 for unlimited reservations for 6 guests that's just over $8 each, abut a fiver.

Sounds like a bargain and a very good idea to me, who can't afford $8 for guaranteed ride times with no waiting?

Granted it's not as busy as Disney but there is a LOT to do in those two parks and its difficult to do it all in one day as it is when you have to queue.

Have another read, it says:
"The first is $39.99 plus tax per person"
"The second package is $49.99 plus tax per person"
"Up to six guests can share one U-Bot"

So 6 sharing a U-Bot would cost $319.44 or £206.09

Ahhhh well in that case it's not worth it to most people, only those who were going to buy the express passes anyway!
