Everyone who has been to the Disney section of this site knows there are those hidden little things (or not hidden but not promoted so most people miss them all together) that make Disney a feast for the child inside us all. So that got me thinking does Universal have some hidden gems that are not mapped/promoted? What are the little things that make you go WOW or COOL? Are there any secret places or little side shows that really brighten your Universal experiance but are easily missed if you are not looking for them?
Please share :)

My kids loved an out of the way climbing wall. It is actually the side of a building that you climb up not anything like a normal climbing wall. It was reasonable too if I remember correctly. I think I paid $10 for 3 climbs. I don't remember exactly where it was but I'm sure someone here will.

As two adults traveling without children, we always make it a point to check out the kid-friendly areas that we would otherwise miss ...walk through Me Ship the Olive at Toon Lagoon in IOA and the paths by Popeye & Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barges. Some great themeing. In fact, be sure to walk all the paths near the lagoon. You will find wonderful themeing, views and treasures along all the lagoon paths in each of the "islands" at IOA.

We just returned from 6 days at UO which allowed plenty of time to just wander around. We actually spent one day just walking around and exploring both parks and city walk. UO is not as hectic as WDW (IMHO), so it is easy to just slow down and take it all in.

The talking fountain can be a hoot. Especially when it catches children off guard. Also I always crack up at the voices located in the bathrooms.

What voices do you hear in the bathrooms??

If I have time today, I'll bring up the thread of secrets at universal.

many of us, me included worked on that one.

For our family, it was watching our little boys playing in the open fire hydrant in NYC. They had so much fun!!! My parents loved it because they grew up in NYC and played in them all the time as children.

The men's room by the Confisco. If you go in there you can hear a conversation between two men. By the sinks. At least that is what I remember from a couple of times. Also in Suess landing, the bathrooms by Lost Continent. You can hear some some of the kids voices speaking in rhymes.

I was going to do the same--I thought that it was a Sticky and was surprised when I looked up and it was gone.;)

nope, the mods never made it a sticky.
i tried my best but it didn't fly.

hopefully, the regulars will bump that thread at different intervals to keep it in the eye for the newbies to read.

for someone that has never been to Universal, it gives them things to look for and do.
