Yeah, Helios should absolutely have the express pass. It would be silly if they didn't as the rates there are going to be astronomical..
There will be the biggest proximity perk to date with Universal as it's literally right there, one could expect dedicated entrance, maybe a boon could be a slight extra time in the parks...which may bring up will they maintain the no extra hours in the evening for on site as I could see that being something to provide Helios.

I think eventually Helios would get EP it's just the question of will it be day 1 or not. I do agree with others people are going to pay regardless, there will be some other perks (either specifically provided by Universal or just location) attached to it.

Don't disagree. I just think it's an indication of no express for a while. Which makes sense since that's how UO operates...Hagrids still doesn't have it, VC just got it recently
Yes, but they can give them EP for the other parks at least if not for EU as well. I am of the opinion they should give Helios guests EP for EU as it would not be that many people and would be a perk for the high rates they are going to charge for staying there. I wouldn't stay there without at least EP for the other parks.

That's kind of what I was thinking. There may not be rides at Epic Universe with Express Pass because usually there is a gap of time between when the ride opens and when it becomes a ride that is available for Express Pass. What I think/hope will happen is that Helios guests will get Express Pass for the rides at the other parks, but not for the Epic Universe rides when the new park opens.

I know that is the thinking and that is what they should do at a minimum. I do think that Helios should get EP for EU as well. I think there are only 200 rooms so for so few people that wouldn't impact the lines at all. Just my thought. Obviously Universal is going to do what they want..

Just a correction Helios is expected to have 500 not 200 rooms.

Thanks! I still feel the same though... That is not that many in the grand scheme of things...
at double occupancy that's 1,000 people and doesn't include when it's more than 2 people in the room. I understand your opinion on that matter but it is more impact, even in the grand scheme of things, especially when talking about perks especially perks at day 1.

Even if every room was stuffed and had 4 people in it at 2000 guests, and every single person was in Epic Universe every day, and they were all in line for one of the 11 rides, by my math it looks like it would increase wait times by 7 minutes. I don't have exact ride stats of course but most big rides in general (hagrids, cosmic rewind, hulk, etc) look like they can handle 1500 to 2000 guests per hour. I think it's totally doable to give UE passes to the Helios guests, especially if it's not an unlimited pass and can only be used at each ride one time.

I'm not going to challenge your math because I don't even know how you could compute that so it's not worth trying to figure out how you assumed 7 mins (or could even get an impact) but we can't use existing stuff because we don't have the information about new attractions, nor capacity of the new park, not to mention they are added 3 total hotels they don't have right now which is 2,000 additional rooms located right at Epic Universe. Also it would not be likely favorably looked upon to downgrade the EP provided to a resort over the other resorts that get EP and would break with their normal offerings. But none of us have a crystal ball :)

Do we really think Helios standard rooms will be double the price of Universal’s other premiere hotels? That’s wild.

The new Potter land looks amazing! Excited about every detail.

Rack rates for rooms with 2 Queen beds or 1 King at the other Premier hotels are already in the range of $700+ to $1000+ during busier times. If Helios provides EP and Early Access, they can easily ask for $1200 per night at a minimum.

I was looking at the new Poly Tower for this December and the rooms for my days were $1500 to $2700. This is just a new hotel overlooking an "old" park and they're already asking that much.

I think the Grand Cal at DL offers a good example--another in-park hotel with special entrance. Rack rates usually start in the $800s. The Contemporary likewise starts at about that. I would think Helios will eventually settle on that baseline, but initially hotels charge more because demand is higher and people will pony up to have the new experience. So I definitely see it above $1K at first.

I've seen Hard Rock go for $700/night during early/mid May and that's not even a peak time. I imagine Helios will be some bonkers price but it'll still be popular.

Dang - I’ll need to revisit my budget expectations. Would love to try at least one night there, but maybe not worth the trade offs.
