We are visiting WDW in January and spending one day at Universal (park-to-park). Our children will be turning 5 and 2 in January.

Our options to go are on a Saturday or on a Monday (MLK Day). Which do you think would be less crowded? I know neither are the best of options!

Also, do all rides have child swap? And if so, do they walk through the line with you and then wait while one parent rides?

I'm afraid we will just be standing and waiting for each other all day, but it is our only chance to go and I am taking advantage of it!

My (soon to be) 5 yr old is a new fan of HP so even though she won't be able to ride too many things, I know she will love just seeing it all.

Any tips on good activities with the little ones?

Are there things to do at night or should we just as soon return to EPCOT for dinner and IllumiNations???

Sorry...many questions, I know! Thanks for any responses!!!

Here are my responses below. I'm sure others will come along and add their experiences as well. :thumbsup2

1. I think I would would try to stick with Monday (MLK Day) since lots of people don't have off work that day...I know I don't...but you're right...neither is a great choice. ;)

2. Most attractions have child swap so that's not an issue. There is a room where you wait with the child while one person rides and then swaps.

3. Both parks have things for little ones to do which is the problem. I wouldn't suggest one over the other because they are both fun. At the Studios, they have Barney, Curious George and Feivel's playground as well as E.T. and Jimmy Neutron. At IOA there is Seuss Landing, Camp Jurassic, Jurassic Park Discovery Center and Me Ship The Olive...which is an interactive play area near Popeye and Bluto's Bilge Rat Barges.

4. The only time Universal has any night shows/fireworks is during busy holiday periods so you would be better off going to Epcot for Illuminations since there is nothing like that Universal.
