I've only been to Universal Studios when it hasn't been busy, so I've never needed to have a real touring plan. In a busy season, what's the best touring plan (assuming we want to do everything)? We will be staying offsite and don't want to buy express passes for financial reasons. Are Rip Ride Rocket and the Mummy first on the list? What would be next? Thanks for any advice!!!!

Before I can really layout a detailed plan, I need some more information. How many days are you visiting Universal for? Do you plan on doing both parks? What time of the year are you going? You mentioned "busy season" but which one? In the past I have give out some detailed "guides" about what things to do and when, but I need a little more info in order to create the best one.

However, Rip Ride Rockit is the 1st thing you should do at the Studios and of course Harry Potter is the first area you should go to at Islands of Adventure. I will give you a detailed breakdown of rides after you post some more info about your trip :thumbsup2

Thanks so much for the reply and for your advice!

We'll be there near the end of April on moderately busy days (according to another website) and will spend 2 days at Universal (1 day in each park - no parkhopping). I think I've figured out IOA okay and will go to WWOHP first and do all the rides there, followed by the Marvel section of the park and then work clockwise around the park. Does that sound okay or should I do something else?

For US, I guess we'll hit RRR first, followed by the Mummy? I can't thank you enough for your help!!! :)

For US...definitely head to the Rockit first but I would do Shrek next since you are right there. Then Twister, Mummy and around the park through the old Amity section. If you head to Mummy after the Rockit, you would be backtracking when you don't have to. Remember...Shrek does not have a single rider line like Mummy does and the lines get pretty long because of the location.

At IOA...I wouldn't go to WWoHP first thing but rather towards the end of the day but since the park hours are cut back during that time and if WWoHP is your main concern, make sure you see that area. Then you could either go to Jurassic Park or Suess Landing and work your way around. Marvel is on the other side of the park from WWoHP so that's not your best action. You will have lines at all attractions by the time you're done with WWoHP so you might as well go around the park.

Does anyone know if the will-call booths and/or kiosks get backed up prior to park opening (At the Studios)? I know the regular ticket lines can get busy, but if we arrive at the booths 30 minutes prior to opening (with a will call order), is that long enough to get our tickets and in the park at opening?

Thanks for all the great tips! :goodvibesWe are heading down to Universal for just 1 night in July. I will be using your touring plans as well! I do think we are going to stay on site so that we can get the perks. It seems like it might be worth the extra cost.

You shouldn't have any issues using the kiosks. They are located right outside the main gates so as long as everything is working well, you will not need a lot of time. Just remember to have your confirmation number and credit card used for the transaction.

Great plan! I will be following it on our trip, we will be there prime spring break time. Only 3 more weeks...but who's counting??? :drive:
