Universal to build a water park

I catch them occasionally. I just happened to see this reading the online news today. I've heard from someone from US that after Diagon they were going to spend money on a water park. They werent sure if they were building new or upgrading Wet and Wild. I'm not sure how much room is there in relation to a water park but that area between Cabana Bay and the parking garage looks like its being developed for a water park.

I've been saying this for years on the Dis' and now it could be true.

The Volcano Bay trademark was revealed like 2 months ago,no new info is out ,I still don't know if a new water park will be built on site or if Wet n Wild is getting a total makeover,I think they need to do something innovative whatever way they go,maybe they can build a new one onsite and eventually close Wet n Wild to use the space for the third park?????

Im not sure if there is enough land where WNW is now for a theme park. I could be wrong. Though Ive been wondering for several years now, how long it would be before US built there own water park on property. Owning WnW is one thing, but resort guests there and back is a little harder. On property its a lot easier. I think one of their biggest mistakes, was to sell off a lot of the land they already owned, and not developing it sooner.

Yeah I know Wet n Wild would not be enough for a park but Screamscape a couple of months ago reported there was some land purchased right by it that could possibly be Universal, that's where the rumor of a possible third park sprung up along with them building a monorail connecting this area to the main site. You add to that space the Wet n Wild location with that nice lake back there then you might have some decent space to work with.

If its the same land I'm thinking of someone may have debunked it. I'll have to go back and look to be sure but it basically said that the land was already sold or something to that effect or was part of the original land purchase. I forget where I saw it. When I get back to my laptop I'll look for the page I saw it on. That and the land in question is on the opposite side of the street and south of WNW if I remember correctly.
