Universal tickets in app?

I'm heading to USH tomorrow for the first time. I've got tickets/express passes showing up in the app. Do I use those throughout the day or do I need to check in somewhere and get physical tickets? I think I saw certain rides won't even let you have phones on you so I'm wondering how you scan express pass for those. Thanks!

Hi - I'm following up on this question for my sister who is going to USH next week. She has e-tickets and express passes also so I'll tell her to ask for paper tickets at the front gate. My question is do these paper tickets work in the lanyards everyone usually wears? Thanks in advance!
