Universal tickets - best place to purchase?

With elderly parents, there is always the concern the vacation might need to be canceled, so I hesitate to purchase tickets online that I might be stuck with. What is the best place to purchase them and still get a discount? I can't even find the prices for tickets other than purchasing them online. I have the Fan Club Card and I know that gives a small discount. I also have AAA - I would probably be willing to purchase the tickets a day before we leave, if AAA gives a good discount.

Any thoughts?

If you stay at a hotel near by the parks, they may sell them in the lobby. That way, you don't have to wait in lines at the park just to get tickets!
