I have a few questions about the tickets at Universal....

I went to Universal a couple of years ago and printed my tickets at home. Of course, that meant I had a paper ticket the size of a sheet of paper. We are going back in December. I have not yet bought my tickets, but I don't want to do the print at home option because I don't want the same paper tickets. If you use the ticket kiosks, are the tickets printed from that on paper as well?

Does Universal have plastic, credit card size tickets like Disney does? That's really what I'm wanting. And if they do, what are the ways you can get that style of ticket- kiosks? FedEx? None of the above?

Thanks for your help!!

No they are printed on regular ticket stock paper, a little smaller than a credit card. Kiosk tickets are the same type tickets that Disney has.

Disney's tickets are paper tickets also unless you are staying at one of the onsite hotels. At Disney, when you stay onsite they are added to your room key, which is plastic. Universal does not add them to the room key so you will have regular paper tickets. The tickets do have a slight laminate to them so they are pretty durable though.

Paper? Or are we talking about that Tyvek ticket stock which people assume is paper?

thanks for the info!

I have stayed several times at Disney and had the "key to the world" cards, but I have also purchased one day tickets from Disney which they mailed to me (Dec 2009) and those were also plastic. I was hoping Universal had something like that, too... but I'll take the ticket stock over the printed-at-home sheet of paper any day!

thanks again!

If you buy them onsite at Disney, rather than ordering them ahead of time, they won't be plastic.

I saw some people using full sheets of paper as tickets...looked bothersome. We bought DH and DS's tickets at a discount from undercovertourist.com, got their proper tyvek tickets, and enjoyed those far more than something we'd printed at home.
