Universal/Super Bowl Ticket --give it someone else?

Hi -- for those of you who wanted to know -- you can let someone else use the Superbowl ticket you may have won. The winner has to pick up the ticket with their ID -- they had us go to a window on the back side of the customer service building (and on the Saturday we were there, they were VERY slow and it took nearly an hour), but then I handed it to my husband, he signed it, and it was his. They don't care who puts it through the turnstile as long as the winner picks it up. I remember someone here mentioning that they had an AP but had wanted to let their son's friend use this ticket -- perfectly acceptable! Hope this helps you all --

Thanks so much for the info. That's great to know. I some how won 2 tickets (same name, mailing address, etc, but different ticket #"s) & was hoping one of my DS's would be able to use one on our upcoming trip.

I registered after both commercials during the superbowl......got two vouchers. Just because I wasn't sure if I would have won in the first drawing, KWIM?

If and when we go - I will bring one - following the rules

I only entered once. I also entered a local contest, so I'm thinking the 2nd one may have come from there, but there was no explanation & both look the same. I'm certainly going to take them to customer service & see what they say about using both - if they say no, no biggie, but I figure it doesn't hurt to ask.

The local contest (got notice I won that too-wanted to be sure I won that darned ticket) the ticket is not due to expire until Feb or March 2010. Both of the vouchers I received expire 12/2009. How about yours??

Just chiming in here -- I got the superbowl one and NBC affiliate - and both expire on 12/2009 - not the later date the rules for the NBC one had.

We got the Super Bowl ticket also. You sons also got them -- 3 different households & 3 different emails. We are taking 2 of our grandchildren to Florida in June - It would be nice if they could use their 'dads' ticket - since the 'dads' are not going on the trip & the ticket is in their dads name. If they allow you to sign over your ticket to someone else at the gate-- why can't the 'dad' sign something saying they want their child to use it & have the kids bring it along?? Are there others that have the same 'problem' that we have?? We are thankful for the one ticket that we can use - but it sure would be nice to be able to use the others also.

The DIS is all about planning a vacation to Orlando. On occasion, Universal Studios does release discounts which usually can be obtained via a code (such as the Mardi Gras Coke/Wendy's coupon) or a contest such as the Super Bowl contest. The information about how to enter contests or how to get codes are available in our Universal/Islands of Adventure forums. Certain contests and mailings are for to specific individuals/target groups or winners. If you win one of these contests, please do not share ways to circumvent the rules of the contest or list the code for the coupons on the DIS for others to use. We respect the fact that these offers are not for the general public and will remove any posts that include this codes and lock any threads that advocate breaking the rules set forth in the contest. Understand that this action is for your protection. For example, say you use Mrs. Smith's winning ticket. When you enter the turnstiles you may be asked to produce proof that you are Mrs. Smith and cannot do so, you will be charged the full rate and your ticket will be confiscated. That does not mean that everyone will have their IDs checked. Your experience may be different than what someone else experiences.

Since we are a trip planning forum, we want to provide accurate information. The accurate information is that the tickets are non-transferable. It was stated as such in the contest rules. When you enter the contest you are agreeing to abide by the rules set forth in the contest. Themeparks officials do monitor these boards and listing "loop holes" not only looks bad for us as Disboard members but also gives the companies a heads up on blocking these "loop holes." They may even decide not to run contests such as this because of the loop holes.

Obviously, I cannot enforce Universal Studios rules, but they can. All I can do is make sure that threads are locked that list how to get around the rules.
