I don't think the seller realizes exactly what he is selling. He says "the shark itself is not complete, missing a left fin and tail section".

Does he realize this is the animatronic used at the end of the ride when the dying, charred shark makes one last attempt to scare the guests? The reason it is missing those parts is because that part of the shark was under water and never seen by guests.

I am pretty sure this is where that shark is from, and if the seller had realized it and desribed it that way, it might make a more attractive offering.

That is exactly it. It is the part during the attraction right near the end. As the "fried" Jaws comes up out of the water after the explosion, you see this head bob out of the water.

Right after this "fried" Jaws comes up the boat is then parked for the end of the ride.
